Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The first Sunday after Labor Day is Grandparents Day. It is only right and fitting that one day of the year is set aside to honor grandparents. I know that as a Grandparent, I’m very honored to be one.
National Grandparent's Day originated in 1978. Then President Jimmy Carter declared it to be the first Sunday after Labor Day.
Remember, grandparents will always ask about you first and listen intently to everything you have to say. They are never rushed or in a hurry. They are there just for you!
September was chosen to signify the autumn years of life.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It's such a grand thing to be a mother of a mother — that's why the world calls her grandmother.
Author Unknown
I love being a grand’ma’ and am very thankful for the it. The very first picture is of two of my grandson’s that sent Grandparents’ Day wishes my way a couple of years ago.
There won’t be a whole lot of celebrating going on today but I’m hoping for a nice day to go out on the porch and paint some more. I’ve already spent two days out there and will probably spend a couple more as I move slowly and also have had to work between the weather. I do love the porch and want it to continue to be a nice place to be so the painting needs to be done. Maintaining a home is unending it seems.
Today’s pictures are of some of the cute and funny ones of some of my grandchildren. They always make me smile!
Hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Grandchildren are God's way of compensating us for growing old.
Mary H. Waldrip
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over almost 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2015. for the wonderful opportunity to be a grandparent !
2016. for grandchildren that make me smile
2017. for a cooler but sunny day to get some more painting done
