Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
September 21st is International Peace Day. This is a day to seek a global cessation of violence and war. Each year on this day, celebrations are held in hundreds of countries, all with the same goal in mind....to stop war and violence. Created and sponsored by the United Nations, this day seeks to end war. Wouldn't it be nice if this one day succeeded and spread, country by country, day by day, until there is no more war or violence.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Peace is not something you wish for. It’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.
Robert Fulghum
Peace is more than the absence of war. It is a state of being in balance and harmony. Peace is about how we handle problems and how we get along with others.
To celebrate this last day of summer I’m doing my fall decorating today. I used to have a lot more decorations than I do now, but thankfully I was able to share the wealth with some of my family and have got it down to a reasonable amount. It still looks a lot like fall here. I love the colors that brighten up the dreary days that often come with fall. I saw the Peace and Plenty sign that is pictured below when I was out shopping and took a picture of it because I liked it. It fits right in with today’s theme.
Another sign I came across years ago was a Hungarian Blessing that should hang in every home.
With faith comes love
with love, peace
with peace, blessings
with blessings, God is present
with God present, there is no need.
Maybe we could all say a little prayer today for Peace on Earth. We had a beautiful day yesterday but have a chance of rain today. Looks like it will be a pretty peace filled day here.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Peace is always beautiful.
Walt Whitman
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over almost 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2057. for peace, it begins with me
2058. for colorful fall decorations
2059. for home, my peaceful place
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You'll never find peace of mind until you listen to your heart.
George Michael
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

What a lovely, inspiring blog you have.
A wonderful post, MA... from your mouth to God's ear
I liked that Peace and Plenty plaque too, Ma! I forgot until you mentioned it that today is the last day of summer, wow! Definitely something that we should pray for is peace indeed!

I think your fall decoration is so pretty. I went to Walmarts the first of the week and while there I bought a bouquet of mixed fall flowers. I made 3 small bouquets out of them. I love to have pretty flowers in the house.Take care, Jean.
