THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is like a gummy worm. Sometimes it’s sour and sometimes it’s sweet. Sometimes it’s hard to finish but in the end it’s delicious and well worth it.
It seems that everything has some teaching value, including the sweet, sometimes sour, gummy worm.
Knowing the value of sweet versus sour: Life can feel sour when you have no hope, no faith and no one to help you.
God often stretches us, to make us into something awesome, He won’t break us.
Worms wiggle through the dirt, making room for seeds to grow into plants, flowers, trees and food. Without this little guy, it would be hard to have all the things we love. We may feel like this worm at times, small with not much power. But remember to look at yourself like God looks at you. You are an important part of his kingdom.
For many years one of our favorite desserts was dirt pudding with gummy worms on top. But I know I’ve shared that recipe before so today I’m sharing a recipe for gummy worm punch. Something that might be fun to have at a party.
4 cups unsweetened apple juice
4 cups orange juice
2/3 cup thawed lemonade concentrate
2 cups water
20 gummy worms
4 cups lemon-lime soda, chilled
In a punch bowl, combine the apple juice, orange juice and lemonade concentrate. Pour water and 1 cup juice mixture into a 5-cup ring mold; add gummy worms. Freeze until solid. Meanwhile, refrigerate juice mixture until chilled.
Just before serving, add soda to juice mixture. Unmold ice ring by wrapping the bottom of the mold in a damp hot dishcloth; invert onto a baking sheet. Place worm side up in punch bowl. Yield: 3 quarts.
Today’s pictures are of our little Xfactor doing some fishing last week. Not sure if he used any worms for bait or not, but the only thing it seems that he caught was some seagrass.
Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Who has never tasted what is bitter does not know what is sweet.
Proverb
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

I bet Little X Factor enjoyed his day of fishing, even if he didn't catch anything :)
I like gummi worms, haven't had any in years, might have to buy some today. I am glad we do have the worms that make room for seeds to grow :)

Oh Pam, your little fisherman is such a cutie pie! What a joy to have these little dears in your life!
I loved your thoughts on worms, and the purpose of all things in our world. Everything has a reason for being here. WE are all a part of a beautiful plan.
I have not had any gummi worms in years. I suppose I don't have any children around and so they aren't something I think to pick up. I always did enjoy them when the kids were growing up. I wish we had the frozen drink concentrates here in the UK. I would love to try your punch! Have a lovely day! xxoo
