Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Stay Out of the Sun Day, which is celebrated on July 3rd, encourages us stay cool in the shade, and to give our skin a rest from the hot, damaging rays of the sun. On July 3, the hot and sultry Dog Days of Summer begin.
The sun is directly over head. We're in the middle of summer, when the temperatures are the hottest, and the sun is the brightest. It's not a bad day to take a break from catching all of those rays and stay out of the sun. Find some fun and relaxing ways to stay in the shade. A hammock strung behind two shady trees sounds like a great way to go!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
May you have warm words on a cool evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.
Irish Toast
I’ve been staying in the shade for the most part here at my house. Already my electric bill is higher than it has been in a long time because I’ve had the a/c on. It has been hot and humid. I’ve tried to keep to my summer promise and every evening I’ve been outside either on the porch or the patio to watch the sun set.
I’m not complaining about the heat at all, a cool front moved in our area yesterday evening and we are to be in the low 70’s today. . As long as I have a comfortable place I can enjoy the outdoors I’m happy. I’ve been enjoying my own personal little show of fireworks here in the evening too as the lightening bugs are out lighting up the dark. They are always a delight to watch.
The pictures today are courtesy of DDIL#4 as they spent a fun day fishing this past weekend. I was happy to see they all had their shades on too! Sunglasses that is...
Hope you all have some shade to enjoy at your house. Keep cool and have a Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day.
F. Frankfort Moore, A Garden of Peace
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

Cute that fish were actually caught too! Good reminder to have a day to take to stay out of the sun; enjoying the shade is a great way to spend a summer day :)

Love the quote from Mr Moore! Love, too your fishermen! Glad that they caught some and that they all didn't get away! I have never been a sun worshiper. I like it when it's sunny. I just like to stay in the shade myself. The sun hurts my eyes. xxoo
