Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
On this day in 1955, Disneyland, The Happiest Place on Earth, opened at 1313 Harbor Boulevard. The amazing amusement park was built on 160 acres in the middle of Anaheim, California orange groves. Disney called his crew of architects and planners who worked on the park Imagineers and said that he wanted the finished place to be something of a fair, an exhibition, a playground, a community center, and a museum of living facts.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It's kind of fun to do the impossible.
Walt Disney
DS#1 and his family love to go to Disney and they have had several vacation trips there in Orlando Florida. That is what the first picture is of today. I got to go there once with DDIL#1 and I must say it is quite wonderful.
To me though, it doesn’t take a trip to Disney to see impossible things become possible. I see them most every day. Life is full of possibilities and sometimes I call them miracles because so many thought they could never happen or don’t take the time to see them.
I remember when I was a child and life’s smallest moments could engage and delight me in the most enchanting way. I believed in magic, angels and fairies when I was a small girl and I still do. I still find joy and magic in life and the moment. I try to see beauty in every living thing, like a baby smiling, a puppy playing or a lovely flower. An important part of magic is seeing and appreciating beauty in people and in the simplest of things.
I think we need to look for the miracles in everyday life. Look for the gifts in all of our life lessons, and see how our experiences can shift for the better. That is one reason I count my blessings everyday and am very thankful for them. God's little miracles surround us every day if we have our eyes open to see them.
I hope you all have great day! Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It is possible to give without loving, but it is impossible to love without giving.
Richard Braunstein
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1859. for people who inspire us like Walt Disney
1860. for a faith that gives me hope that nothing is impossible
1861. for dreams that come true
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Nothing is impossible to a willing heart.
John Heywood
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I do agree, Ma, we can find magic in anything, an ordinary day has lots of magical things if we'll just look for them :)
Disneyland sure has changed in the 59 years its been open. I haven't been in a few years, but the first time I went was in 1968 and over the years they kept building and adding on. Its fun to visit :)
have a great Thursday!
betty
I have never been to Disneyland I use to think I would make it one day, but have give up on the idea of ever doing it. Some of the children went with their families and would come back and tell how great it was. That's a lovely picture of your son's family. Take care. Jean
I am like you Pam. I find the magic in every day! It's there if you are willing to look for it!
When I was a child I wanted to go to Disneyland more than anything. It seemed like a magical place on earth. Maybe one day I will get to Disneyland Paris. Here's hoping! I don't think there is anything such as being too old for something like that! xxoo
