Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The Fourth of July isn't the only holiday we're celebrating this long weekend. July 6th is National Kissing Day! A kiss is just a kiss...appreciate the humble kiss today. Kissing Day aims to make us appreciate a kiss in its own right. No conventions, no social norms, just a kiss. Across the globe we embrace the kiss by embracing someone else.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Kissing don't last: cookery do!
George Meredith
Ever since time memorial, a kiss has symbolized love, so I’m sending you lots of hugs and kisses today! It’s also a perfect day to celebrate by making some tasty desserts made with Hershey's Kisses . I found this one online and am seriously considering making it.
Hershey Kiss Skillet Cookie
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cornstarch
3/4 teaspooon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup Hershey's Kisses (mixed variety is great here!)
ice cream and hot fudge, for serving, if desired
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In an 8 inch 8-inch Cast Iron Skillet
heat the butter over low heat until melted.
Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar with a wooden spoon.
Let sit for 10 minutes to cool.
Add the egg and vanilla to the skillet and stir to combine. Add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt to the skillet and gently stir with a wooden spoon. Your skillet will be a bit full, so stir gently to avoid spilling. Once the ingredients are combined well, stir in the Hershey's Kisses.
Bake for 12 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Top with ice cream and hot fudge, if desired.
Today’s pictures were taken Thursday and Friday of this week at DS#6’s house. It was a Happy Fourth of July!
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
Remember :
A Sunday well spent means a week of content
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions -- the little soon forgotten charities of a kiss or smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment, and the countless infinitesimal of pleasurable and genial feeling.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1826. for kisses !
1827. for chocolate !!
1828. for ice cream and hot fudge!!!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !

G'afternoon :)
As you and I seem to hang out at many of the same, nicest places in Blogville, I wanted to come say 'hello'.
.... and so glad I did! Your positivity seems downright contagious; and goodness, this old world needs more good-news days and nights.
Have a wonderful new week!
