Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today, the 4th Sunday of July, we celebrate National Parents Day. It is a special day to honor your mother and father. And, its a time to celebrate the family structure and family values. The family unit is an important structure for the health of children, and the nation. That structure, and those values, are established and nurtured by your parents.
The best way to mark this day is by spending time with your parents doing something fun. Its also important that you let them how how much they are loved and appreciated.
Okay, kids everywhere... its National Parents Day. Honor mom and dad!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Parents are often so busy with the physical rearing of children that they miss the glory of parenthood, just as the grandeur of the trees is lost when raking leaves.
Marcelene Cox
I’m very blessed to be a parent. My children are the greatest gifts that I ever received. Sometimes I think we forget for a moment or two just how blessed we are to have them in our lives. Being a parent is not an easy job. It’s something that once it begins, never stops.
My faith, my family and friends are the 3 most important things in my life. I can’t imagine a life without children. Looking back, I remember so many good times that would not have happened at all without them. Each one is unique and wonderful.
I no longer have my parents to honor today, but will be honoring all parents. It’s the toughest and most wonderful job there is.
I hope you all have restful and relaxing Sunday
The First Parent
Whenever your kids are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to his kids. After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve.
And the first thing God said to them was: DON'T. Don't what? Adam asked. Don't eat the forbidden fruit, said God. Forbiden fruit? Where is it? Adam and Eve asked, jumping up and down excitedly.
It's over there, said God, wondering why he hadn't stopped after creating the elephants. A few minutes later God saw the kids having an apple break, and He was very angry.
Didn't I tell you NOT to eat that fruit? God, the First Parent asked? Uh huh, Adam replied. Then why DID you do it? God asked exasperatedly. I dunno, Adam answered.
God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed. But there is reassurance in this story.
If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give your children wisdom and they ignore it, don't be to hard on yourself. If God had trouble handling His children, what makes you think you can do better than Him?

COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is no friendship, no love, like that of the parent for the child.
Henry Ward Beecher
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1889. for my parents, where would I be if not for them
1890. for my children that are all parents too
1891. for the privilege of being a mother
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If you raise your children to feel that they can accomplish any goal or task they decide upon, you will have succeeded as a parent and you will have given your children the greatest of all blessings.
Brian Tracy

I so enjoyed reading 'The First Parent" ... that's priceless! :)
I'd a random thought just a few hours ago (yes, I'm a crazy early bird) - your children are so very fortunate to have been raised by someone with such a positive attitude!
So true, Ma, that being a parent is a very hard job; a very rewarding one, but does have times of difficulty. It is I also enjoyed reading "The First Parent." One of the best things God gave us was free will, which is also the most difficult thing when trying to raise kids :)
