Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
In trouble with somebody you care about? Today, the third Monday of July, is Get Out Of The Doghouse Day. It’s like a ‘get out of free card’ from the game Monopoly. Use it to apologise, mend hurts and get back to normal. Of course, the real objective is to stay OUT of the doghouse to begin with.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.
Gilda Radner
Sometimes I feel like I’m in the proverbial dog house. I don’t know exactly what I did or didn’t do to get me here, but here I am. I think there must be a reason. Maybe it’s the dog days of summer that are to blame.
Here are things dogs can teach us about what matters most in life:
Things A Dog Can Teach Us
Author Unknown
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When you leave your yard, make it an adventure.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Be loyal.
Run, romp and play daily.
Bond with your pack.
When you’re excited, speak up.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout…run right back and make friends.
When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Never pretend to be something you’re not.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
On cold nights, curl up in front of a crackling fire.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
So, we can learn a lot from our dogs. Their companionship, loyalty and unconditional love is unmatched by any human standards.
Let's celebrate that you're out of the doghouse in hopes that the celebration doesn't get you back into the doghouse.
Have Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The greatest love is a mother's; then a dog's; then a sweetheart's.
Polish Proverb
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Such pretty flower pictures, Ma! I've found myself in the doghouse too a lot, but glad that people are forgiving of me when I'm in there. Our dogs can teach us a lot if we would just follow some of their excitement towards life :)
