Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Cheer Up the Lonely Day. It's an opportunity to make a lonely person happy. Any time you can make someone happy, you've done a good thing, and should be proud of yourself.
Lonely people have few friends and loved ones. They may have lost loved ones over the years. They may be elderly. They see people on an infrequent basis. What a lonely person really needs, is face to face time with other people.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You cannot be lonely if you like the person you're alone with.
Wayne Dyer
Thankfully, I am not a lonely person. Even though I live alone, there are plenty of people in my life so that I am never lonely. When I think about it I’m never truly alone either. I think of my books as friends that keep me company. Books are always there and so is the patio or the porch to sit on and watch all the wonderful things going on right outside my door. There are birds chirping and butterflies flitting around. The flowers seem to change daily and the clouds floating by are always fun to watch.
There are people in my life, like my 2 out of state sons and their families that I do miss. The ones that live in Ohio are around much more often, but these two not so much at all. So I’m sending those folks I don’t get to see very often a ***BIG SMILE*** today! I do miss you all!
Once again we’ve had some really nice days here this week and lower humidity too. What a blessing in the middle of summer to be outside and enjoy it. I think it’s to be pretty nice for the next several days too! Today’s pictures are more of what is blooming here around my house.
Hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
What a lovely surprise to finally discover how un-lonely being alone can me.
Ellen Burstyn
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1800 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1841. for lots of people in my life
1842. for smiles, they always delight and charm
1843. for beautiful summer weather
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.
Anne Frank
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I love the idea of a Cheer Up the Lonely Day! I don't think many people were lonely years ago. Communities were more closely knit and everyone knew each other and kept an eye on each other. We have several elderly friends who we visit often as well as call often. I hope that when I am elderly I will have some one to visit me! Have a super day and weekend Pam! You cheer up so many with your lovely posts! xxoo
I love the blooms around your house, Ma! Good reminder with Cheer Up the Lonely Day to be on the look out for someone who might need a hug or a smile or a visit because they are lonely. I'm sure going to a nursing home or such would be a wonderful thing to do today. I know our youth group from church occasionally visits a retirement home and the guests there do so enjoy when they come.

"The simple beauty of nature", I love this quote from Anne Frank.
I think everyone should read her book.
Have you ever read the book by Miep Giles, the woman who helped the family while they were in hiding in Amsterdam? I might have misspelled her name, and she just died a few years ago, but I truly loved her story and the book that she wrote.
Cheer up the lonely day, that is a lovely idea.
