33 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:43 am
Sunset: 8:20 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Bedroom radio alarm
August 20th is Radio Day. On this date in 1920, Detroit radio station WWJ began daily broadcasts as the first American commercial station.
Celebrate Radio Day and turn it up!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
TV will never be a serious competitor for radio because people must sit and keep their eyes glued on a screen; the average American family hasn't time for it.
Author Unknown, from New York Times, 1939
Radio listening isn't what it used to be, still I do listen to it often. There is a music station for just about everyone from classical to country music. I like to listen to the oldies station. They might be old songs, but they are still good ones.
Today's pictures are of just a few of the radios here at my house. More than not I listen to the radio via an app on my phone these days. I particularly like having the Weather Radio app that warns of any bad weather headed my way and it adjusts to the location that you happen to be at too.
Modern technology keeps on changing, but I don't think that radio will ever be a thing of the past. What would I do without my radio alarm clock. Not that I use it much any more, but I do depend on it when I need to get up early.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

COUNTING MY GIFTS
It’s when you count blessings — you see Who can be counted on
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
872. for radios that keep us in tune
873. for music that brightens my day
874.for weather warnings that keep us safe
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

A time to feel good: hearing your favorite song on the radio
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I love the idea of Radio Day. I listen to the radio most of the day. I prefer it over TV as I am able to do other things while still being entertained. Blessings
I listen to christian music on the radio... growing up I always had the radio on... needed to know what the top twenty songs of the week were... lol... we had some freaky weather here last night... it got really cloudy and then everything turned orange... then it got really windy with lightning, thunder and a bit of rain... even the electricity flickered a bit... it felt like tornado or earthquake weather... but it was gone as quick as it came... Happy Tuesday... :)
