32 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:44 am
Sunset: 8:18 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
It's Good Roads Day. Road warriors and devotees of the open road celebrate Good Roads Day on August 21st each year. By this point in the summer, warm-weather highway construction is usually in full swing. Lane closures abound.
Why not put a positive spin on the perennial traffic jams at this late midsummer junction? Pass the potholes, and point for the smoothest, recently resurfaced roads on the map?
A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

According to my trivia for today is also Senior Citizen Day and a good friend also let me know that August is Grandparent Loss month too.
We have been seeing our share of roadwork the past few weeks on our little travels near and far. It seems orange barrels and cones are every where. I'm sharing some pictures of roads traveled today. In the weeks ahead, we'll be seeing more roads and I'm hoping less road work. We'll see….
They say that it is when you can enjoy the view, even on the detours, that is when you know you;re content. Just enjoy the view and take your time, eventually you'll get to where you are going.
Important reminder: As summer comes to a close, and the new school year approaches, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging drivers to exercise patience when it comes to school buses dropping off and picking up children.
Sometimes I'm just very thankful for the reminder to slow down and enjoy the view. We miss a lot when we travel too fast.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It’s when you count blessings — you see Who can be counted on
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
875. for good roads
876. for all the wonderful adventures life brings
877. for being able to live life in the slow lane, the view is terrific
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Road sense is the offspring of courtesy and the parent of safety.
Australian Traffic Rule, quoted in Quotations for Special Occasions by Maud van Buren, 1938
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

32 days until Fall... I'm saying that as a mantra today, when it was so hot and humid out!
Who would have thought there would be a lane day?
All the schools in our area have started and several of the schools are having road construction right on the first week of school... seems they could have worked on the roads by the schools in the summer time... Happy Wednesday!! :)
