ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

47 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:29 am
Sunset: 8:38 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
August 7th is Beach Party Day. What a great day to grab that picnic basket and beach blanket, and set your sails for the nearest shoreline for a midsummer getaway.
One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach. One can only collect a few and they are more beautiful if they are a few.
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
My life is like a stroll on the beach…as near to the edge as I can go.
Thoreau
August 7th is also Lighthouse Day and in our part of the woods, the beach and lighthouse go together. Our beach is on the shores of Lake Erie and there is a lighthouse close to the beach near where I live.
The pictures today are of that beach close to home.
The beach is my very favorite place to be. At least once a year I try to make the trip, but in my mind I go there often. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I just say I'm taking a trip to the beach!
I can imagine the waves hitting the shores of that sandy beach and feel the sunshine warm on the sand. The sound of the sea gulls over head and the view make for a relaxing moment or two.
I probably won't make it to the beach today, but it is a good day to take a trip to the beach!
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It’s when you count blessings — you see Who can be counted on
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
833. for the beach
834. for relaxing thoughts
835. for lighthouses that guide others to safety
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Why does the ocean rock the moon to sleep every night?
So the sun will wake and kiss the beach
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Loving todays post. Lighthouses and the beach. Two of my favorite things. Happy Wednesday. :)
My ex husband's great grandfather was a lighthouse keeper. I love lighthouses. They symbolize so much and most are quite unique in looks. I love the beach. WE haven't gone even once this summer. We need to do something about that! Have a great weekend! xxoo
