38 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:38 am
Sunset: 8:27 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
August 15th is Relaxation Day, a laid back holiday, marking the end of the Dog Days of Summer.Take your ease on August 15th. Put your feet up. Stretch out for a snooze. It's Relaxation Day.
The man who doesn't relax and hoot a few hoots voluntarily, now and then, is in great danger of hooting hoots and standing on his head for the edification of the pathologist and trained nurse, a little later on.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
For fast acting relief, try slowing down.
Lily Tomlin
We've had some much cooler weather in the low 70's here in northern Ohio and it makes it perfect for relaxing. It also makes it perfect for traveling and that's what I've been up to. Little trips, not very far from home so I don't need to worry about jet lag…no jets involved, our trips are all being done by car. I'll be downloading pictures and showing them in the next few days but not today.
Having worked for many years I do know the importance of relaxation and know the benefits of a little time off from work and hectic schedules. I think that is probably why I loved camping. Back when we first started camping, there were no cell phones so when you left home, you left everything behind. Nothing would interrupt your peace and quiet. Camping today is quite a different thing all together. Of course now I'm on a permanent vacation so no need for camping, but still it's nice to get away every now and then.
Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is just to shut the phone off, shut the TV off, and shut the computer off. All this technology we have now can cause us to feel a bit overloaded.
Whatever you do today, remember to take some time out just to relax. You'll be glad you did!
I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It’s when you count blessings — you see Who can be counted on
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
857. for short relaxing day trips
858. for time outs, good for both children and adults
859. for the end of the dog days of summer that will bring some nicer weather
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
The time to relax is when you don't have time for it.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I love Lily Tomlin Pam. I always loved her characters on Laugh In. She was very talented. I find that the older I get, even short jaunts can be very tiresome, nevermind the long hauls! Days out are my speed nowadays. I do enjoy them! Love and hugs! xxoo
