ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOVEMBER 8th, 2010
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's MONDAY!
Today is National Parents as Teachers Day, a reminder that parents are the primary teachers of children ages birth to five, the most important learning period of a person's live
Your children need your presence more than your presents.

THINKING
There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings.

It is good to be loved, but it is even better to love...
and that begins at home.

NATIONAL CAPPUCCINO DAY!
A close cousin to the latte, the cappuccino enjoys it's own day today. Instead of your normal morning cup of Joe, get a little fancy and enjoy this espresso treat.
Here is a homemade dry cappuccino mix in a jar. Make it for yourself, or give it as a gift
1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup instant chocolate drink mix
3/4 cup instant coffee granules
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
In a medium sized glass jar, combine the non-dairy creamer, chocolate drink mix, instant coffee, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well.
To prepare, place 2 tablespoons mix in a mug, pour in 3/4 cup boiling water, and stir until dissolved. Serve hot.
God our Father, may no one's negative actions ever overpower our determination to choose to live life in a positive way. Help us to stay open minded and soft hearted.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
The trouble with being a parent is by the time you are experienced, you are unemployed.
Author Unknown
I've been an unemployed parent for several years now. That is to say my family is now all grown up and have families of their own to care for. Being a mom though, is something that I won't ever quit being.
The week ahead is going to start off nice and slow for me. There is nothing really on my calendar until Wednesday evening. That's when I'm going to start the first leg of a long celebration weekend. A few of my family and a few of DDIL#1's family are going on a trip with her to celebrate her birthday! Birthdays are always causes for celebrations but this one will be one of the greatest parties I've ever been to.
COUNTING THE DAYS
God's gifts put man's best dreams to shame.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
43 DAYS UNTIL WINTER!
47 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
158 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
