HAPPY TERRIFIC TUESDAY !!
I got some wonderful SMILES in my e-mail yesterday from DDIL#4. She had pictures of them going to the Pumpkin Patch and they are full of smiles.
I will put some of them in my journal What’s New At My House. The link is at the end of this newsletter.
Receiving pictures of my grandchildren always makes a gloomy day a lot brighter. It won’t be long now and I can take some of all of them myself as we’ll be all getting together come Thanksgiving. It’ll be like a family reunion all over again. As the years go by it seems the chances we all have to be at the same place at the same time are getting few and fewer so I really take advantage of it when we do.
I’m still working on putting away the piles of things in my dining room. All of which came from my camper. I am determined that by the end of this week all will be straightened around. It is really terrible at the moment.
It’s cold out and dark early so I’ve not much else to do anyway.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
God of light,
give us the freedom to walk in
the footprints of your Son, Jesus.
Let our light shine out for all to see
by turning to those who call for our help.
Heal our wounds, heal our community.
Amen.
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY IS…GHOST BUSTERS DAY
What is the most popular Halloween costume every year? A ghost, of course. And the most famous ghost is Casper. "Casper the Friendly Ghost" was created by Joe Oriolo and Sy Reit in the early 1940s. He went on to star in cartoons, comic books and tv shows. Worldwide, he is the most recognized character after Micky Mouse. And everyone knows the tune...Casper, the friendly ghost,The friendliest ghost you know!
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is St. Jude’s Day, honoring a follower of Jesus. In The New Testament Jude warned Christians not to allow negative influences to destroy the church
Jude is the patron saint of those suffering from desperate cases, and of serious illnesses such as cancer.
Today is National Chocolate Day
An emblem of Franco-American unity, the Statue of Liberty, was presented to the American people by the French and unveiled this day in 1886. Inscribed on a tablet inside the pedestal of ‘Miss Liberty’ is a poem by Emma Lazarus. It describes the statue of a woman holding a book and torch.
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, with conquering limbs astride from land to land; here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand a mighty woman with a torch, whose flame is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command the air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
‘Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!’ cries she with silent lips. ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!’

TODAY’S SMILE
There is finally proof that chocolate is healthy.Chocolate comes from coco beans. Beans are high in fiber, protein and other nutrients, making beans a very healthy food. Therefore chocolate is healthy for us
Research has shown that the cocoa-based confection, which contains chemicals called flavanols, can improve blood flow and reduce blood pressure. Flavanols are found in apples, red wine, and green tea
The 12-step chocoholics program:NEVER BE MORE THAN 12 STEPS AWAY FROM CHOCOLATE!Terry Moore
This guy found a bottle on the ocean, and he opened it and out popped a genie, and he gave him three wishes. The guy wished for a million dollars, and poof! there was a million dollars. Then he wished for a convertible, and poof! there was a convertible. And then, he wished he could be irresistible to all women... poof! he turned into a box of chocolates
I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

Romans 12:6a
There's an often-told story of a young boy who walked the local beach looking for starfish. Whenever he found one of the little sea creatures, he would carefully pry its legs from any rocks before tossing it back into the sea. Under his careful watch, hundreds of starfish were returned to the water.
One day an older man noticed the young boy carefully throwing starfish back into the sea. Intrigued, he couldn't help but ask the boy about his ritual.
"Why do you throw the starfish back into the sea?" the old man asked.
"Because the starfish will die if left in the hot sun on the shore," the boy explained.
"But there are millions of starfish, and multitudes of shores with countless beaches upon which you will never walk," the man contended. "On each of those beaches there are throngs of starfish you will never save. Why do you bother?"
The boy looked down at the sand and picked up a starfish resting nearby.
"Because today, this day, this one will live," the boy replied. And he threw the starfish back into the sea.
The man watched as the boy continued his practice. Then, he reached down himself, picked up a starfish, and threw it into the sea.
The story is a rich reminder that in a world of needs, one person can make a big difference. It's also a lesson in the importance of doing what you are uniquely created, gifted, and called to do. Like so many others, the boy noticed the starfish dying on the seashore, but unlike the others, he made a decision to do something about it. He used the abilities God had given him to make a difference. Like the old man in the story, not everyone will always understand or get what you do, but regardless of the response, you are called to use the talents and gifts God has given you for His glory
