ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
18 DAYS UNTIL FALL

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is National Wildlife Day which is a celebration of the amazing plant and animal wildlife found in nature. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the many endangered species in this country and around the world.
If you have a zoo or animal sanctuary in your area, then it’s quite possible tht people in your community are already working hard to preserve animal life and educate the public about conservation.
National Wildlife Day is a great day to adopt a pet or donate to your favorite shelter or wildlife center. Help make a difference.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The continued existence of wildlife and wilderness is important to the quality life of humans
Jim Fowler
I love the great outdoors and everything in it. It’s beautiful and entertaining. I’d have loved to live on a farm and raise animals for a purpose. It’s in the country that we learn a lot about life and it’s there I felt closest to nature. And I’m thankful I had grandparents who had a farm that I could visit when I was a child.
But I’m also thankful for all the conveniences I have as a city girl. I can go to the store and buy a jug of milk and not have to milk a cow in order to get it. I don’t have to churn it to have butter either. But it was good to know how these things were done and makes me appreciate more and more just what I do have.
I don’t have any wild life pictures to share with you all today but I do have some of the farm. The original farm house is no longer there, but the barn and several out buildings are still there and that is what is shown in the pictures today.
My grandparents are no longer living, but one of my cousins has taken over running the farm where I used to visit as a child.
For today’s dinner I have plenty of salmon leftover from the other night so I’ll be using that instead of the canned salmon mentioned in the recipe for today:
Salmon Caesar Salad
1 5 oz. pouch Boneless Pink Salmon
4 cups romaine lettuce
2 cups season croutons
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup Ceasar dressing
In large mixing bowl, toss lettuce with dressing. Fold inn salmon and cheese. Evenly divide salad onto four plates. Top with croutons.
You can substitute 2 5 oz cans of drained Salmon for one pouch. Or roll this salad up in a wrap and have lunch on the go.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

There is nothing like fresh air and sunshine!
I love the photos! I would love to live on a farm too and be self sustainable. I've always been a city girl but all my aunts and uncles up in Tennessee all had farms that I was able to visit every summer when I was growing up. I'm thankful to have had those times. Have a great weekend Ma :)
Just this morning Tom was sharing fond memories of summers spent on his grandparent's farm. Lots of life lessons handed down from one generation to another. Do you suppose that still takes place? I hope so!
Another great recipe Ma! I enjoyed your pictures. I like to view wildlife from afar or in a zoo or the like. I can't see myself enjoying a safari.
