ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 24TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
88 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day which honors a popular delicious fruit and dark chocolate combination. Nestle Raisnets are one of the most popular candies for movie goers.
Culinary historians believe that humans first discovered rosins when they came across grapes drying on a vine. The sun-dried morsels soon became one of the most popular food sweeteners, second only to honey. Raisins are an excellent source of fiber, potassium, iron, calcium and certain Vitamin B’s. Add some dark chocolate into the mix and you’ll also have a healthy dose of antioxidants and important minerals.
So enjoy a handful of chocolate covered raisins in honor of the day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The 12-step chocolate program: Never be more than 12 steps away from chocolate.

Chocolate covered raisins have always been a party treat here at my house. I usually buy them for the holidays when my family gets together. They are a treat.and only eaten at special times. I usually find a big container of them at Sam’s Cub. However you can make your own, by dipping raisins in melted chocolate. I prefer the ones store bought.
I’ve got my order in for Easter candy because some of my grandchildren were having candy sale fundraisers .Hopefully I won’t be stuck with it all to eat by myself. But however it turns out, it will keep for awhile. And sooner or later we will be having a party ! Chocolate anything is always good. Why not have chocolate eggs and bunnies for Christmas in July!
My neigorhood squirrels are not concerned with social distancing. They’ve been out running up and down the trees like they haven’t a care in the world. I’m thankful for their daily entertainment. It doen’t take a lot to make me happy these days. There truly is not much else going on here at my house and nature is one of my ways to find entertainment.
I envy those out in the country where they have a lot more to see.The only other critters I see are geese that fly over head in the morning and evening and the occasional duck that waddles through the yard to play in one of my many puddles. Which is what are in my picture today.
As you might guess I’m finding it hard to have much news to tell you about. I’ve been staying in and not going any place or seeing anyone.
I Hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Try to enjoy some nature today !
88 days to summer! Wow! I love how you do the countdown for us!
Yes, we will all be celebrating big when this crisis is over! April 3rd is when our shelter in place order expires and if it’s not renewed we are high tailing it down to the country!
I enjoy the nature right in the city too. Squirrels are not Louis Dean’s- aka Mr. McGregor’s - favorite critter but I do find them entertaining. And I do love the birds! I think illl get out and fill all the feeders today. I have one sitting on a table outside the kitchen French doors. I love to watch them! The other day one flew right in the house! It was okay, though, because the sewing room French doors were open so he sailed through the kitchen, dining room and sewing room and right on back outside!
I’m going to be decorating for spring and summer soon. Not too much for Easter though. As of now my Good Friday family gathering is on hold. Who knows what it will be like by Easter?
We've no chocolate-covered raisins, but 1/2 a chocolate fudge/peanut butter cheesecake remaining in the freezer. Soooo good, but way too rich - even for my chocolate-loving hubby. (I didn't realize you could get Cheesecake Factory products mail-order until my son told me he ordered it through Harry & David.) Definitely something I'm going do for (super) special occasions going forward.
Our squirrels sure provide plenty of laughs -- even when they tease the dogs. Plus, this morning I saw my first woodpecker in action.
I heard lots of museums have virtual tours. Might be fun to do those. I wonder if chocolate can be frozen. I know I will make a basket for the kids and leave it at their front door. That's what we do these days. Get something they might need and deliver it on their porch and text them that it is there.
