ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, MARCH 7TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Cereal Day, which honors the most popular breakfast food in America, but that wasn’t always the case. Up until the 1860’s most people ate eggs, bacon and sausage every morning. Cereal emerged as a healthier alternative at the end of the 19th century.
The invention of one of the most famous brands of cereal was an accident. In 1877, two brothers named John Harvey Kellogg and Will Keith Kellogg were experimenting with food made with boiled wheat. they left a batch out over night and returned to find it stale instead of throwing it away they rolled it out and discovered tht each wheat berry formed its own flake. they tried the same process with corn.and created the first dry breakfast cereal which we know as Kellogg Corn Flakes.
Many people start their day with a bowl of cereal. Wholegrain cereals are an excellent source of fiber, iron and B vitamins. Celebrate today with a bowlful of your favorite cereal.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast.
John Gunther
Here at my house I have several varieties of cereal on hand. I have Frosted flakes Honey Bunches of Oats, frosted mini wheats, and Rice Krispies. I like to have my daily banana sliced up in my cereal every day. I start the day with my usual donuts but by 10 o’clock or so get hungry and that’s when I’ll eat breakfast. And sometimes I’ll have breakfast for dinner.
Yesterday I had my cereal about lunch time , rice krispies and bananas. Snap, Krackle and Pop! It hit the spot! And for me there’s nothing like having cereal with a side of toast. They seem to go together very well.
Today I’m going to be giving the house a bit of spit and polish getting it ready for any company that may be coming in tomorrow for my birthday. We’ll be gong out to dinner but they usually stop in before or after.
Don’t forget Daylight Savings Time Starts tomorrow so set you clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed.
Spring Ahead!
I hope you all have SUPER Saturday!

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

Good Morning ! It's a New Day!
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! I, too, would rather eat about 10 … but I'm trying to adjust to accommodate Tom's preferred 12N. Not sure how it happened, but he likes a big meal at night, whereas I'm the opposite. (Speaking of breaking habits, lol!)
ANYway! Snap-Crackle-Pop ignites some great memories. Malt-o-Meal was usually what I was served -- but I remember my dad discovering a new dry cereal with dehydrated bits of fruit that would blossom(?) once you poured milk over it. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a bowl of cereal, but my adult go-to is Grape Nuts.
Happy BIRTHDAY tomorrow!!
We enjoy all the same cereals as you do. I put bananas but also blueberryes, sliced peaches or strawberries - whatever we have on hand.
It's a spring like day in Texas but on the cool side. I'm working outside and then come in and sew or paint and then go back out. I am loving this month!!
Happy early birthday Ma! I too like Rice Krispies with a banana in it. So tasty! I usually have instant oatmeal these days but I remember eating lots of cereal as a child and having cereal for my kids growing up. I used to get a few different types and my daughter would like mixing a little bit of each into one bowl :)
I know you will enjoy the longer evenings of light now that the time is changing your way :)
Hope your birthday is a great day!
