ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 15TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is THE IDES OF MARCH, which has long been considered an ill fated day. Julius Ceasar was assassinated on March 15th, 44 BC. Historians note that it was likely a soothsayer named Spurinna that had warned Caesar that danger would occur by the ides of March. William Shakespeare included the phrase, Beware the ides of March, in his play Julius Caesar.
The ides were the 15th days of four months, March, May July and October in the ancient lunar calendar. The were the 13h in all other months . The words ides comes from the Latin ides, which is possible derived from an Etruscan world meaning to divide. The ides were orginally meant to mark the full Moon , halfway point of a lunar month, but because the Roman calendar months and actual lunar months were different lengths, they quickly got out of step The ancient Romans considered the day after the calends, first of the month, nones, nine days before the ides, inclusive or ides of any month as unfavorable theses were called dies atri.
We are also told to beware of the ides of March because that is when we most often get bad weather. The last bad snow storm of the winter season will often happen around this time of year. This year looks like we’ll be ok, even though we’ll be cooler, around 38 degrees, it will be a partly sunny day with no storms in sight.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Losers live in the past. Winners learn from the past and enjoy working in the present toward the future.
Dennis Waitley
The 15th seems to be a day of superstition like Friday the 13th, when we’re warned that bad things can happen, but I’m not s superstitious person and todays seems like most any other one to me. It’s the end of another week and that always a good thing to me. Sundays are my day of rest. On Monday, We’ll get a fresh start, a clean slate, and a chance to begin again. I’m tired of hearing about doom and gloom and will be thinking on the bright side as much as possible. The sunny side of the street is always a nicer place to be.
The robins have returned to northern Ohio and every where we go, you can hear them singing, cheer up! cheer Up! Not worrying about what might be, but instead enjoying what is. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow hasn’t come that’s why today is called the Present. Each new day is a gift!
There are times it’s good o beware of what’s going on around you so that you’re prepared. But we don’t need to get upset when there’s no need . Try to keep calm and carry on.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.
Alice Morse Earle
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7934. for the gift of each new day
7935.for warnings that tell us to beware
7936.for the cheerful robins in spring
.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live what is happening.

Enjoy what you have today !
Keep calm and carry on...that came to us from Britain from WW2. Let's adopt that slogan for America and the world! Take care. xx
Happy Sunday Morning! Did you attend church? We watched online as the churches are following the current advice from our Governor to limit crowds to 500 and since Louis Dean is high risk, I am keeping him at home.
Your photos are so pretty and I love the pretty quilt under the pretty things sitting on the table!
I've always heard that phrase, "Beware" but not the whole story. So I've got 3 more 15th's to guard against? Geesch!
Ours was a disappointing afternoon when, at the last minute, Sean's publisher abruptly canceled his tour. Oh well. Things could be much worse; I believe everything happens for a reason. The sun will come out tomorrow!
Our pastor preached a great sermon today. Funny thing is he had started planning the sermon series 9 months ago when Covid-19 was not even in existence. But basically he said trust in Jesus. He has everything under control. Jesus knows what is going on, He is in control, He loves us. He'll be with us during this crisis every step of the way. We just have to trust in him and continue to pray for all involved in having it, officials making decisions, healthcare workers, etc.
I did remember it being the Ides of March today. It is beautiful here today!! About 76 degrees!! Good day to be outside but most parks don't have lots of kids playing there.
