ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 13TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is National Good Samaritan Day which provides an opportunity for us to spread goodwill and show compassion for others in need. The term Good Samitan originates from the parable of the Good Samaritan which can be founds in the Gospel of Luke. The parable portrays a good natured Samaritan who helps an injured stranger in need, despite their Religious and idealogical differences. The term can now be understood to encompass all actions done unselfishly for those in need.
Celebrate today by volunteering at a local soup kitchen, paying for a strangers coffee, or helping out a coworker. However you choose to celebrate, make sure to spread kindness and generosity today.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
There are opportunities every day to be kind
Barb Walters
Sharing kindnesses with others is always a good thing, not just today but always. The way I look at it there is never a reason not to be kind. It’ takes so little and doesn’t cost us a thing. Little things like a smile, can meke such a big difference. In these days of turmoil and confusion we all need them more than ever. Today’s pictures are more smiling faces of my family, they always make me feel better. They cheer me up more than most anything else.
One thing that has made an impact on most of us the last few days is all the news about the corona virus. I’ve learned that the most important thing is to wash your hands often and to stay away from crowds. More and more, we are going to be isolated in our own homes. One thing I’ve not seen mentioned is to pray. Please join me in praying that a cure will be found or a vaccination will become available to prevent its spreading. It seems to me that when we find things impossible, we need to remember that with God nothing is impossible. His mercies are new everyday and are available to all those that believe. Please pray!
Today is a meatless Friday for me so I’m going to male a good old fashioned tuna and noodle casserole for dinner. It’s quick and easy and always good. Comfort food is needed and appreciated.
Campbell’s Tuna and Noodle Casserole
Makes 8 servings
2 cans condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 c. milk
2 c. frozen peas
2 cans tuna, drained
4 c. hot cooked noodles
2 tbsp dry bread crumbs, optional
2 tbsp. butter, melted
Stir the soup, milk, peas and tuna and noodles in a 3 quart buttered casserole
Bake at 400 degree for for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Mix bread crumbs with butter in a bowl and sprinkle over top of tuna mixture. Bake for 5 minutes more. For a cheese toping instead of bread crumbs, top with 2/3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese over the casserole.
Or for chicken noodle casserole, substitute 2 c. cooked chicken for tuna
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

When things look impossible I've learned to turn things over to the One that does the impossible.
So true to pray about what is going on these days and try not to live in fear. I always liked when my mom made tuna casserole during Lent when I was growing up. Always good to help others too!

The world could use a lot more good Samaritans, and kindness should be a way of life. It doesn't cost a thing to smile, so why not hand them out generously? Ninety-nine percent of the time, the other person returns the smile. Then we BOTH feel better. :)
Tuna casserole was one of the first things I learned to make! And man, living on a time in cold-water (college) housing, that was something we ate every week.
Despite the empty shelves and long lines I encountered today, most folks appeared to be in a good mood. We're all in this together!
