ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, MARCH 2ND, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Dr.Seuss’s Birthday who was born in 1904. He went on to become a famous writer and cartoonist we all love today. Dr. Sueuss wrote and illustrated 44 childrens books containing fun rhymes , wacky plots and outrageous characters. Some of our favorites ae the Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Oh the Places you’ll Go, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the Lorax.
Dr. Seuss’s books were so popular that he also had multiple TV specials and series, films and a broadway musical made after them. Although he was an American writer and cartoonist, his books were loved worldwide and published in my different languages. Dr. Suess won numerous awards for his work such as a PULITZER Prize, two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.
Each year on this day, a spacial notional event called Read Across America is held in his honor. It’s a day for children to celebrate their love of reading.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Oh the things you’ll find if you don’t stay behind.
Dr. Suess
I love to read and will be celebrating this day by reading another book. It probably won’t be Dr Seuss, but I do have a few of his books. I had more when the babes were young, but many of those went when I had to downsize in order to move. I may even fix some green eggs and ham for lunch today.
Green Eggs and Ham
Makes 2 to 3 servings
4 slices bread
2 tbsp. butter
4 eggs
salt and spepper to taste
2 or 3 drops blue food coloring
1/4 c. minced ham
Break the eggs into medium bowl. Add a pinch of salt and pepper and the food coloring to the eggs to make the desired green color. Whisk the eggs until they are completely mixed together. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium low heat. Add the ham and cook it until begins to brown. . Stir it with a wooden spoon to keep from sticking. Pour the eggs right on top of ham. Don’t stir until eggs have begun to set. Use a spatula to fold the eggs over as they cook. Chop up the eggs with the top of the spatula . Remove eggs to plates as soon as they are done and serve with buttered toast.
We’ve got to keep moving forward and progressing because there are plenty of things in the world to discover. And if you lead the way you get to control what it is you find, rather than finding things somonene else thinks is interesting. The view from behind is not a very good view , as the person in front of you is blocking most of it. So get out in front and face things head on. You’ll find its much more fascinating and there is plenty more to see. I’m behind here and plan on catching up here at my house today. It’s not a pretty view at all.
I hope you have a great start to this new week. Happy Monday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

A great day for green eggs and ham.
Not sure why, but I don't recall ever having read any of Dr. Seuss' books. He did, however, author some remarkable quotes. I've no food coloring on hand to make green eggs today; perhaps I'll have some on St. Paddy's Day!
I used to like to read the Dr. Seuess books to my kids when they were growing up. I did enjoy the rhymes in them :) I think it would be fun one day to make green eggs and ham :)
