ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Ash Wednesday which is the first day of Lent and occurs 46 days before Easter. It’s a moveable date, falling on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter. It can occur as early as the 4th of February or as late as the 10th of March.
Ash Wednesday derives its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads as a sign of repentance. The ashes used are typically gathered after the Palm crosses from the previous year Palm Sunday are burned
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return
Genesis 3:19
I”ll probrably being going to church later on today for the Ash Wednesday service. DS# 5 had said he’d take me. The service won’t be over until after dark and I don’t drive when it’s dark out any more . Thanks to my children, I don’t have to worry about it. I’m very thankful for all the help they give me.
Today is also one of abstinence from meat, so I’ll be making up a bowl of egg salad to eat. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are both meatless days for me. It’s not a hardship at all but, There is lots of good food to eat that doesn’t include meat.

as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.

We'renot going to live forever and one day we'll return to dust. Do your best every day, we only get a short while on earth.
We are just visitors until God calls us to our home.
