ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Battery Day which celebrates the birthday of Alesandro Volta, an Italion physicist who created the version of batteries we know and love today and markes the importance of the modern day battery.
To celebrate we could gather up any dead batteries we have and take them to be recycled. Many retailers offer recycling kiosks inside their stores. Or better yet switch to rechargeable ones.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God put me on the earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now I am so far behind that I will never die.
Bill Watterson
What would we do if it werern't for batteries. They are everywhere. My computer and phone have rechargeable batteries that I plug in and recharge every day. Even my lawnmower runs on batteries and I have to recharge them after every use. But for the most part the ones I use most are not rechargeable.
I sometimes wish I had a battery that I could recharge to give me more energy. Right now I’m running on low, but then every day the hours of daylight we get are increasing and soon Spring will be here. I guess you’d say the sunlight recharges me. They say we should sit in the sun for 15 minutes everyday in order to get more vitamin D. Trouble being that the sun just don’t shine here very often. I do take a Vitamin D supplement, but nothing works better than real sunshine.
It’s also a good day to check the batteries in our smoke alarms as they can save lives.
I hope you all have aTERRIFIC Tuesday!

Protect our military

with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

ADVICE FOR TODAY
We take better care of our smartphone than ourselves., we know when the battery is depleted and recharge it.

Remember to take some time to recharge, refresh and renew.
I'm so looking forward to 'Springing forward' in a few weeks.Let the sun-shine in!
Like my mother, that's when we'll replace the smoke detector battery. Tom does a good job of using rechargeable lithium batteries for his RC aircraft and shop tools. (Regrettably, I could do a better job.)
I have a box in which I have put batteries. But I haven't seen a battery recycling kiosk here. Will check.
I'm glad there are lots of things that run on rechargeable batteries! Sure saves trying to figure out where to take them to have them recycled!
