ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Boy Scout Day which according to the Scouts motto, everyone should try to do a good turn on Bou Scout Day The dates goes bak to the founding of Scouts in Amerial by William Dicson Boyce in 1910. In Gret Britain Lord Baden-Powell is the so called father of the Boy Scouts There are Scout organizations all over the world.
On Boy Scout Day Scouts celebrate themselves. They go to church together on Scout Sunday and have breakfast. Scout Sunday is the Sunday next to Boy Scout Day. Scouts learn a lot about nature, sports, animals and have the claim to always be helpful and friendly. They do sports together and have a wonderful confraternity.
February 8th recognizes the annivasary of the date William Dickson Boyce filed letters of incorporation. February is also Boy Scout Month.

I am and have been a big supporter of the Boy Scouts for many years. It all started when my oldest son wanted to join scouts, and I was told I’d have to be a den leader if I wanted him to join. I served as a den leader and even a Scout Master and enjoyed every minute of it over the years.
The only two that are Scouts in my family right now are DS#6 and his son. The pictures today are of their Pinewood Derby this year. It’s a family thing and even his daughter got involved. She made her own derby car too. It’s definitely an organization that the whole family can enjoy.
I’m going to attempt to get out for some shopping today. I haven’t been out an about since Thursday and I’m ready for some fresh air and some exercise too. I think walking around Target is going to do it for me. I need to get a couple more storage totes and maybe I’ll find some new ideas for Spring.
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

It's a day to do a good deed for another....
I've always believed the Scouting organization to be a great thing! I didn't know you were a Den Mother … mine was too! (Well, for the GSA that is.) I don't keep up with these things, but it doesn't seem to be so popular anymore. Sad. 'Hope DS#6 and your grandson continue to set a good example and more young people will want in.
Scouting, whether it be boys or girls, is such a great organization! They teach so much! My mom was a den mom for my brother's scout troop and she enjoyed doing it. That Pinewood derby is always a fun thing to be part of!
