ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Tofsy is World Thinking Day which has been an important fundraising, day since 1932. It’s a day about friendship, advocacy and fundraising for all to support over 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world.
Girl Guides and Girl Scouts spend today learning about their international sisters around the world. They participate in entertaining and educational activities based on the year’s advocacy theme. Fundraising is also an important part of the day. Money that is donated will help girls learn new skills, to take action on issues important to them, and to help them develop as global citizens.
Girl Scouts use today to earn their World Thinking Day badge. We can celebrate today by supporting our local Girl Scout Troop or making a donation to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God never slams a door in your face without opening a box of Girl Scout cookies.
Elizabeth Gilbert
Although I was only ever involved in Boy Scouts. I think that any Scouting organization is good for our youth. I remember bing a girl Scout when I was young and was proud to wear my uniform. Every one loves girl Scout cookies too and most know someone they can buy some from. They are well known and are good so it’s easy enough to buy some to support them.
Today is supposed to be some warmer here. I think we should get up in the 40’’s and stay there through Thursday of next week then we’ll go back down in the 30’s. There will also be sunshine today and tomorrow.which is very good news.Spring is actually coming our way. It’ll be a great weekend to get out and about for some fresh air and sunshine.
Today I’m going to do some cooking for the weekend as usual, so won’t have to cook for a few days. I have some chicken in the freezer so I’m making
One Pot Chicken Alfredo
!/2 lb. skinless, boneless chicken breast
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp italian sseasoning
1 tbsp olive oil
2 c. milk
1 clove garlic, minced
8 oz fettuccine
1/2 c. cream
3/4 c. grated parmesan cheese
plus more for serving.
Slice chicken breast horizontally into thin pieces using sharp knife. Sprinkle with garlic salt and italian seasoning on both sides.
Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium high heat. Add chcken and cook until golden and cooked through. Remove onto a plate. Add milk and garlic to skillet. Bring to a simmer and add fettuccine. Cook stirring to prevent sticking until pasta has softened. Reduce heat and stir in cream and parmesan cheese. Simmer, stirring occasionally until sauce has thickened and pasta is cooked. Add chicken and heat through. Serve immediately with additional parmesan if desired.
Makes 4 Servings
I don’t have any girl scout pictures or chicken pictures to share today but I do hava a lot of pictures of my grandchildren to share and that is who the pictures are of today.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart.
Elizabeth Andrew
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7886 Scouting, good for our youth
7887 for one pot dinners
7888 for warmer days
.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand...
I have never been involved in the Scouts but do pay then to put a flag on our walkway every holiday and they have been very faithful.
What great 'Super' shirts your DD and g'son are sporting! My scouting days (both Brownies and Girl Scouts) were some of my happiest times. Tom loves chicken alfredo so much, I may try this in the Instant Pot.
Such great pictures of your family!! Scouts is a good organization for teaching kids so much! I bought some Girl Scout Cookies today, LOL. I usually don't but it was raining today and they were out there trying to make sales. Had to give them credit for doing so!

Sweet little girls! Some 35 yrs. ago, I was asst girl scout leader. One thing I got to do was collect the orders, send them off, and then stack them up in my dining room. Stacks and stacks.
