ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
33 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is Gum Drop Day which celebrates the tasty chewy candy made with gelatin and coated in sugar. Gumdrops can come in fruity flavors like grape, cherry, orange and lemon or spiced flavors like cinnamon, clove , mint and anise.
It’s believed that a man named Percy Trusdale invented the gumdrop in 1801, but there is very little evidence to the cloim. What we do know is that gumdrops have been popular for at least 200 years.A board game Candy Land features both a Gumdrop Pass and a Gumdrop Mountain. To celebrate today decorate a cake with gum drops or buy a bag of them to eat !
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The pictures above are of some heart shaped gummy suckers that I got for treats for my Valentines. They are just like gumdrops and are just as tasty. I happened to have a few leftover as there weren’t many visitors here for Valentines Day.
I got a whole box full to share and it was way too many. Gum drops are a candy that perks up the tongue because of of their distinct flavor. And you cannot stop at just one. Very good on a wintry day for a pick me up!!
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday! Happy gumdrop Day!

Love is always in season.
What great (visual) accompaniments to your words! Your grandson is adorable!
Hope you're enjoying a blessed Saturday!
YUM! I love gumdrops. (Then again, I've rarely met a candy I didn't like.) But we don't have any gumdrops in the house right now... just lots of Valentine's chocolates.
Sorry for any confusion on my posts today and I thank you for stopping by.
Its been years since I have had gumdrops but I do like them!
betty
I used to make a gumdrop fruitcake long years ago!
I do have some mint and spicy gumdrops in one of my candy dishes in the living room. I keep candy and change it out seasonally....sometimes throwing most of it away if I haven't had many visitors.
