ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Eat a Red Apple Day which celebrates one of the healthiest fruits available in nature’s pantry. Apples are thought to be native to the Central Asian region. Today, about 10,000 types of apples are grown all over the world. Apples come in a variety of colors, though the most common are red, green or golden. They are very low in calories, have high amounts of fiber and Vitamin C and their skin is full of antioxidants.
Celebrate today with a red apple. Have caramelized apples with your french toast or pancakes, or an apple and walnut salad for lunch and pork chops with apples for dinner and don’t forget an apple pie for dessert.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Old Proverb
Apples are so very good and good for us so I have them often. In honor of the day I’m sharing a recipe for pork chops and apples that I’m going to fix for dinner tonight. I’ll make enough for dinner tomorrow too.
Apple and Sage Pork Chops
Serves 4
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. sage
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp Allspice
1/2 tsp paprika
4 boneless pork chops
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 red apples, thinly sliced
1/2 c. apple juice or cider
1 tbsp. brown sugar
Mix flour, salt, and seasonings in a small bowl. Sprinkle both sided of chops with 1 tbsp. of seasoned flour.
Heat oil in a large skillet on medium high heat. Add pork chops, brown on both sides. Remove from skillet. Add onion and cook and stir 3 minutes or until tender. Add apples; cook and stir about 2 minutes.
Stir in juice, sugar and remaining seasoned flour until well mixed. Return pork chops to skillet. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until desired doneness.
This is a new recipe for me but it sounds delicious.
Today is going to be a fun day for me as I’m off to visit some craft shows with my sister. Where she lives, they are having a town wide craft sale with many churches, antique shops and the senior center participating. It’s warmer and raining so I’m taking my umbrella along just in case. We won’t have to walk far anyway, just drive from place to place.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Anyone can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the number of apples in a seed.
Robert H. Schuller
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6571. for apples, a healthy fruit
6572. for craft shows offering unique gifts for sale
6573. for a day to spend with my sister
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting Golden Delicious.

I'm going to show this recipe to Tom; we both love pork chops, but he's always had applesauce on the side. HUGS from rainy Coosada!
