ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

WELCOME WINTER!
Today is the first Day of Winter which is also known as the Winter Solstice. Autumn has officially come to an end. It’s the shortest day and longest night of the year.
Coincidentally, December’s full Moon, the Full Cold Moon, will also appear on the night of the 21st, though it will not be at its peak until the next day. They say that the next full Moon to actually peak on the winter solstice won’t be until 2094.
At the winter solstice, the Sun’s path has reached its southernmost position. The next day the path will advance northward, but the change is so slight that that it seems to stay the same or stand still. For the next two months temperatures will continue to fall. Winter includes December, January and February.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Celebrate we will, for life is short but sweet for certain.
Dave Matthews
I’m not big on winter, I don’t like to be cold, but after living where I do I have found many ways to keep warm. I don’t like the short days and sleep much more than I should and always look forward to sunny days. Yesterday was beautiful and I managed to capture a picture showing the blue skies which is shown in the first picture today. No snow is in the forecast till probably after Christmas here.
We have some long cold months ahead of us. BrrrChill! But no matter the weather, I’ll be making my own sunshine, trying to make the best of what every comes our way. There is nothing I can do about the weather.
It’s time to make my winter bucket list…
Drink Hot Chocolate
Read a new book
Make homemade soup
Snuggle in sweaters
Eat a mince pie
Make paper snowflakes
Try a new recipe
Start a new craft project
These are just a few, but I’m sure there will be many more things to do. There is never a dull day here.
Today I’m off to get my hair cut. Now that I’m wearing it shorter, it’s a good feeling for sure. My hair stylist said that hair doesn’t grow as fast in winter, but so far mine hasn’t slowed down at all.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
One kind word can warm three winter months.
Old Proverb
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6631. for winter, a good time to snuggle in and keep warm
6632. for a hair cut, makes me feel better
6633. for lots to do, no matter the weather
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.
Victor Hugo
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

Dreaming of a winter wonderland..
I had my hair cut this morning, as well! It sure feels raw in Alabama today -- (more) rain and temps in the mid-40's. I'm thawing the last of my pork and Hatch-chili stew for supper; meanwhile, a cup of hot chocolate sounds wonderful!
We don't get as cold as you do, but I can feel the winter chill in the air and I'm waiting for warmer (and hotter) days ahead. Was kind of one of those damp the sun never came out kind of days here. I like it bright and sunny even if it is a bit cold with it. I'm looking forward to getting more light daily. Hubby leaves for work in the dark and comes home in the dark.
