ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is World Soil Day which was first celebrated on December 6th, 2012. The UN saw a need to raise awareness of soil loss and this day highlights soil’s importance on Earth. We need soil for basic survival, food and energy. Problems like deforestation, bad agriculture practices and pollution cause soil degradation and erosion.
The best way to celebrate today is to educate ourselves. Many of us simply do not know enough about the earth to know when we are damaging it. A simple way to go about conserving soil is the have a rain barrel placed somewhere it can collect rainwater flowing flowing off your roof, which can then be used to water your lawn. Whatever you do, remember the smallest gesture can make a big difference.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The people who make a difference are not the ones with the credentials, but the ones with the concern.
Max Lucado
There are so many little things we can do every day that make a big difference, not only in soil conservation, but in life. It is often the little things that make the biggest difference.
To often we think it’s the big things in life are what count, but the little things add up and make a big difference. A small change in your spending habits can make a big difference. A small shift in your thinking can make a big difference in your attitude. A small investment can yield a great return. A small change in diet can make a big difference in your health.
Don’t underestimate the small things: a kind gesture, a cup of coffee, a stranger’s smile- they all add up to make a big change in our lives.
I try to make a small difference in my soil, by mulching the leaves in my yard to return valuable nutrients to the soil. And yes there are still plenty out there, but they may have to wait till Spring depending on the weather.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
One person can make a difference and every person must try.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6583. for little things, make a big difference
6584. for the soil, we need it to live
6585. for DS# 5 who took time to hang my Christmas Wreath
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

This morning the ground is once again covered with a dusting of snow. Keep warm and keep safe everyone!
That Max Lucado has the greatest quotes, doesn't he? Thank you for reminding me, how one small act - then another, and another - can contribute to the betterment of our selves and our world. Random thought: Like The Little Drummer Boy who had no gifts to bring; but instead, played for Him on his drum. Have a super sort of day!
A day in honor of soil... who'd a thunk it? But you're right. It is important. We have a rain barrel out back, and one unexpected way it's made a change is in the tree frog population in our yard. They lay their eggs in there, and then there are hundreds of teeny little tadpoles, until they become adorable little frogs. We really get a kick out of watching them.
So cute with all the decorations in your pictures :) It is so true that the small things can add up and taking care of the soil is one good thing to do to help it be able to grow the things that need to be grown. I would imagine farmers are really great at taking care of their soil.

Yes, I believe with all of us trying our best the world would be a far better place.... including our soil. Love what you wrote about this, MA. Have a great day! Love, Andrea xoxo
