ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is International Mountain Day which aims to draw attention to the important roles that mountainous regions play in water and food supply.
It was on December 20th, 2001 the UN designated December 11th as International Mountain Day to highlight the importance of sustainable mountain development.
Towering, and majestic, mountains are some of the most beautiful of nature’s structures. Solid and regal they stand against the sky, of such a size that they can catch entire countrysides in their shadow and turn back the ravages of storms against their unflinching sides.
The are a source of recreation and resource with snow covered sides providing ski slops to enthusiasts and minerals in abundance to those brave enough to delve into their stony sides.
In certain areas of the world they are also a source of unique agriculture, providing ample space for the production of those products that grow best on their slopes. Coffee, Cocoa, Herbs and spices , and the form of handicrafts that spring from the minds of those that live in the unchanging protection of these towering heights.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Country roads, take me home
to the place I belong
West Virginia, Mountain mama
Toke me home country roads…
The closest I’ve ever come to being near to a mountain top was flying over them to visit one of my sons in California years ago. It was quite an experience to be so close to a mountain top. Aside from that I’d only experience the gentler slopes of the Appalachian Mountain range in West Virgina. And that is what the pictures are of today. This is the last time I visited there, almost 2 years ago now.
It’s true what they say about how they can hold back the weather. I found out that smog was prevalent in the region I visited in California due to the fact that air rarely cleared because of the mountain range.
That was a totally new experience for me as I live in a flat region here in northern Ohio and wind is constantly refreshing us here. Brisk winds over Lake Erie, can change a clear day, to a snow day overnight.
Mountains are often symbolic in our lives. They represent constancy, permanence, motionlessness, and stability. To move mountains means doing the spectacular and apparently impossible. Faith can move mountains.
Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting
So get on your way!
Dr. Seuss
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Faith can move mountains, but don’t be surprised if God hands you a shovel.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6601. for my faith
6602. for beautiful and inspirational mountains
6603. for memories of sweet days in West Virginia
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Live your life each day, as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Faith can move mountains and yes, I've often been handed the shovel. Ha !
I'm not fond of mountains roads especially if they are narrow and you can look over the side, but the view when you get to the top of the mountain is outstanding! So true about how mountains can hold things in. When we lived in Medford, Oregon it was between 2 mountains and the fog would descend in wintertime and not leave sometimes until spring because the mountains kept it trapped in there.

Situated amid the Rocky Mountain range, I still miss my hometown … but not so much the elevation and winter driving conditions! I never tire of watching the Sound of Music for its amazing scenery and music.
I grew up in a valley between two mountains, which weren't high like the Rockies, but mountains all the same. It was a beautiful place to live. When I lived in Alberta, I lived in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and was totally amazed at how high they were! I remember seeing them from the train soon after we entered the province of Albert. I have seen the Alps as well and they are amazing, but somehow they always make me feel lonely and cold. I stand in awe of the Pioneers who forged the Mountain ranges to settle the West. It is amazing to me. They must have had such stamina! xoxo
