ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is International Tea Day which celebrates one of the most popular beverages around the world. It’s a day to extend our appreciation and gratitude to everyone involved in growing, processing and delivering this wonderful beverage to all of us.
Tea is a wonderful drink that comes in a wide variety of flavors, each one having a distinct personality and character of its own. While tea can be enjoyed throughout the year, winter is a perfect time to enjoy this drink and keep your body warm from within.
Next to water, tea is the most widely consumed beverages in the world. On any given day around 2 billion people sip on the brew. So today, lets raise a cup and toast the tea growers around the world.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; if you are depressed, it will cheer you; if you are excited it will calm you.
William Ewart Gladstone
This time of year my favorite tea is Christmas Tea made by Twinings. I haven’t been able to find any in our local grocery stores yet this year, but I haven’t stopped looking. It’s a blend of black teas with traditional flavors of cinnamon and clove. It has a spicy taste and a soothing aroma. Another favorite this time of year is Constant Comment Tea by Bigelow. It’s a black tea flavored with orange rinds and sweet spices.
I did find a recipe for making a spiced tea for the holidays so I’m sharing that recipe today.
Hot Spiced Tea for the Holidays.
6 c. water
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
6 tea bags
3 c. orange juice
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. pineapple juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice
Pour water into a pot, add cloves and cinnamon stick. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Add tea bags to water and set aside to steep until your desired strength. About 5 minutes. Remove and discard cloves, cinnamon stick and tea bags.
Stir together juices and sugar, bring to a boil and cook and still until sugar dissolves. Pour juice mixture into the spiced tea and serve hot.
This would serve 6, but I’m thinking that I could let it cool and save it in the fridge and pour a cup and reheat it whenever I want another cup.
Today I’m doing some cooking and baking for the weekend. I like things done ahead of time so I can just relax and enjoy my Sunday.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Some say a cup of chamomile tea or warm bath can induce relaxation, but gratitude is the great wooer of sleep.
Elizabeth Yates
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6613. for tea, good and good for you too
6614. for honey, I like it in my tea
6615. for my last surviving Christmas cup, on the handle it says Make Merry!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
A woman is like a tea bag — you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.
Nancy Reagan
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Enjoy a cup of Christmas Tea!
Oh, I used to love Constant Comment Tea! It was my favourite all year round. I will enjoy a cup of Spiced Apple Tea today in honor of National Tea Day! Love your very pretty Christmas mug! You do share the nicest things Pam! Thanks for all that you share so generously with us all the year through! You are a blessing to many! xoxo
Another beautiful mug! I've not enjoyed a cup of hot tea in years and years, but that Christmas blend sounds rich and wonderful.
I remember you telling me (that) you, like me, sometimes use old potholders as coasters and this looks like it might be one of those!
I've been drinking an apple cinnamon type of tea on the cold days here. Very tasty and satisfying!
