ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Chicken Wing Day which has become a commonplace menu item at many chain and local restaurants. With a franchise like Buffalo Wild Wings, Wingstop and Atomic Wings, you can’t go far without find somewhere to get delicious wings. One of the most popular varieties is most certainly buffalo style. There popular varieties include barbecue, lemon pepper, parmesans garlic, sweet and sour, and honey mustard.
The city of Buffalo NY was the birthplace of the spicy wings we all know and love. Mayor Stan Makowski officially proclaimed July 29th as National Chicken Wing Day in 1997.
It’s a great day to have some chicken wings !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A perfect dinner for me is being with people I really want to be with. It starts and stops with my company and my family.
Catherine Bach
For years Chicken has been a popular thing to serve for Sunday dinners here at my house, so why not have some chicken wings today.
I looked for a found an easy way to make my own buffalo wings so I’m sharing the recipe today. I really don’t like things that are too spicy so I keep mine on the mild side.
Buffalo Chicken Wings in the Oven
Makes 6 to 8 servings
3 lbs. chicken wings
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup hot sauce
1 teasp salt.
Creamy Blue cheese dressing, to serve
Leave the wings on the counter while you prepare the sauce to take the chill off. Make the buffalo sauce: Melt the butter in a small sauce and over medium low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the hot sauce and salt.
Coat the wings with sauce. Cover the bowl and marinate on the counter for 20 to 30 minutes or refrigerate up to 24 hours.
Heat the broiler. When ready to cook the wings position an oven rack 6 to 8 inches below the broiling element and turn on broiler. Line a baking sheet with foil. Transfer wings to baking sheet. Arrange the wings on foil lined baking sheet, Discard marinade.
Broil for 10 minutes then flip. Broil another 10 to 12 minutes . Wings are done when skin is crispy and meat pulls away easily from the bones.
Serve while still piping hot with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks along side.
Note: for classic buffalo flavor, Franks Red Hot claims to be the original, but which sauce you use is really up to you. It’s up to you to calibrate the heat to your own taste.
It was a great day yesterday and weather wise it looks to be another great one today . A big THANK YOU to DD and her hubby for having us all over to their home. Today’s picture are just a few of the many I took yesterday.
As usual I’m slowly waking up here today and sipping my good cup of hot coffee. I’ll be off to church later on and then back home to rest and relax.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
There is only one difference between a long life and a good dinner: that, in the dinner, the sweets come last.
