ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Happiness Happens Day which was founded in 1999 under the name of Admit You’re Happy Day by the Secret Society of Happy People, Happiness Happens Day aims to spread the joy of being happy, and to persuade people to look on the brighter side of life.
Happiness is contagious, so if you’re happy, tell someone! If someone else is happy, listen to them!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is too short to be anything but happy. So kiss slowly, love deeply and forgive quickly. Take chances, give everything, have no regrets and forget the bad in the past. Just remember what
all it taught you.
Author Unknown
I like to think that I’m basically a happy person and yes, I really do always try to look on the bright side of life. To be anything other than happy is a waste of time in my books.
Every day may not be a good one, but there is always something good to be found in every day when you take the time to look for it. That is what I try to do and put the focus on the good and not the bad.
I thank the good Lord every day that He’s not finished with me yet. I’ve still got a lot of loving to do and happiness to share.
It’s to be another bright sunny day here and even if it wasn’t, I’d still be happy. August is starting off with some very lovely days.
This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Day.
Experienced gardener's know that Zucchini is one of the most prolific plants in all of the gardening world. A single plant produces a seemingly endless supply of Zucchini. A small row of zucchini has the potential to end world hunger.
By the time August arrives, gardeners are reaping far more zucchini than they can possibly use. They use it daily in an untold number of recipes, from soups and stews, to breads and dips. Still, the fruit matures on the vine faster than anyone can even pick it. Zucchini growers become desperate, as they try to give zucchini away to family, friends and everyone they encounter. By August, even non gardeners have had enough. Everyone avoids you, with your arms laden with giveaway fruit.
Desperate times calls for desperate measure. It's time to sneak over, under the cover of darkness, to your neighbors porch, and unload some zucchini. Today is that day.
With that said, I have a delicious Zucchini Stir Fry recipe to share with you all today. It's the perfect summertime, vegetarian side dish or serve on rice for a main dish.
Summer Zucchini Stir Fry
2 Tbsp cooking oil
2 or 3 medium zucchini, cut into thin strips
1 small onion, roughly chopped
1 c carrots, thinly sliced on the diagonal
kosher salt and fresh ground pepper
Prepare vegetables. Heat oil over medium high heat in a large skillet. Start with the carrots, and stir fry them about 3 minutes to soften them up. Add in onions and stir fry 2 more minutes.
Add in zucchini and continue to stir fry 2 to 3 minutes until zucchini is done to your liking. Season with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Note: You can use baby carrots instead of slicing up a large carrot.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Happiness is a gift and the trick is not to expect it, but to delight in it when it comes.
Charles Dickens

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Decide that life is good and you are special. Decide to enjoy today. Decide that you will live life to the fullest now, no matter what. Trust that you will change what needs changing, but also decide that you're not going to put off enjoying life just because you don't have everything you want now. Steadfastly refuse to let anything steal your joy. Choose to be happy...and you will be.

Always good to choose happiness over anxiety or worry. Good attitude you have adopted over the years, Ma. That zucchini stir fry looks good!

A while back I was going through a worrisome period, allowing my mind to fret over a medical 'thing.' ... Then, while stopped at a busy intersection one morning I glanced over into someone's back yard and began to chuckle. 3-4 dogs were having a whee of a good time running and jumping over debris with nary a care in the world except what was happening Right Then. The animal kingdom can sure show us a thing or two!
I'd love to wake up to a pile of zucchini on my doorstep! This recipe sounds wonderful!
Perfect day for you then!
Love the stir fry recipe, thanks!
What a happy picure that last one is Pam! Two cuties! I try not to worry too much about stuff, but I am not perfect and no matter how hard I try some worry does creep in! Over here zucchini are called courgettes. Not sure where that name came from! I love zucchini however and use it a lot in baking and stir fried, etc. Your recipe sounds delicious! xoxo
