ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Be an Angel Day which encourages us to do acts of kindness, and to help others.
The objective of this day is to be like an angel, and do something good or kind for someone. It encourages us to be God's servant in doing good things for others. It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone.
George Elliot
I’ve had many angels in my life. Friends and family that have been a great help to me in times of need. There have also been a few strangers that have shown up just when needed too.
I am very thankful for them all and would like to say how much they all are appreciated.
It’s not hard to be an Angel to someone. Every action we take that helps another can result in many different things occurring, not the least of which are lasting friendships, eternal gratitude and or sometimes just a feeling of contentment of doing something good.
They say we’ll have a rainy day here in my part of the world and one of my little grandsons will be spending the day with me while his mom is at work. He’ll be brightening what would otherwise be a gloomy day for sure.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Eat a Peach Day.
Peaches are quite possibly the world’s perfect fruit, they are rich and delicious and even their flesh has an amazing texture. The aroma they fill the air with is enough to make one’s stomach rumble, and there’s little that can compare to a nice cold peach tea in the summer heat. Eat A Peach Day reminds you that it’s never a bad time to spend a little quality time with this perfect fruit.
I found a recipe for a salad made with peaches which sounds perfect for these hot August days.
Mozzarella Peach Salad
3 ripe peaches, peeled, if desired
1 cup fresh basil leaf, torn
8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 1 inch chunks
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Cut each peach into 6 to 8 wedges, then cut each wedge in half crosswise. In a large bowl, combine the peaches, basil, and mozzarella.
Drizzle with the oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and toss. Serve cold or at room temperature.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Angels are direct creations of God, each one a unique Master's piece.
Eileen Elias Freeman, The Angels' Little Instruction Book
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5185. for angels among us
5186. for sunshine on a cloudy day

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another.
Luciano de Crescenzo
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Oh! Your post has reminded me of the most incredible book..."Angels Without Wings" by Jane Vonnegut Yarmolinsky. It is an amazing book, even if you don't read it, you should just look it up!
Lovely post, you are an angel!
Love your Willow Tree figures, Ma. I've a few myself that bring a smile to my face. There's just something about their sweet, pure simplicity.
Tom and I had last quote by Luciano de Crescenzo printed on our wedding programs back in '04!
