ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to our little Darling Today!

May the dear Lord bless and keep you today and always !
Today is also Middle Child's Day. While the first born is always considered something special, the youngest one will always be considered as the baby of the family, the middle child doesn't yet have the status of the oldest but also isn't the baby anymore. Middle Child's Day was created to show some appreciation to children in this sometimes unfavorable position.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY

This little granddaughter’s birthday is another one of those long distance celebrations for me. I sent a card out in the mail with my wishes for a very happy birthday to her. She is not the middle child in her family but is the youngest and also my youngest grandchild. She has two older sisters and three older brothers. Most all the pictures I have of her are with her family as you’ll see in today’s pictures.
Her dad was the middle child in our family and I think he turned out pretty well. I’m very proud of all my children. They say there are several advantages of being a middle child. It means you maybe had it a little easier than your big bro or sis. Your parents were probably more laid back with you. According to research, middle children are more open to experience and more willing to develop different abilities. They are team players and know how to deal with everyone, able to form stronger friendships at younger ages and know how to go with the flow. Not bad attributes to have at all.
I’m going with the flow here at my house and trying to remember that everything is not going to ever be done. The more I do, it seems the more there is to do. I no more than get one thing done and it’s time to do it again. On the bright side, my life is never boring.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Julienne Fries Day.
If you aren’t sure what julienned means, it’s a knife cut that means to cut into thin strips, kind of like matchstick carrots are. They are sometimes called shoestring potatoes. I think that the best I ever had is at our county fair which will be coming up later on this month. I found a recipe to share in case you’d like to make your own.
THIN CUT BAKED FRIES
2 lbs russet potatoes, julienned
1 Tbsp olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place potatoes on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until potatoes are cooked through a golden brown.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Children make your life important.
Erma Bombeck
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5155. for our little Darling, it’s her birthday today
5156. for my middle child, our little Darling’s dad
5157. for potatoes, good just about anyway you fix them
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

A bit of love from someone dear…

Happy birthday to Little Darling! Great pictures of the family! My brother is the middle child in our family, wedged between 2 sisters. So he probably didn't feel too much of a middle child syndrome in that he was the only boy :)

Those eyes! Your Little Darling is blessed, indeed to have such a loving support system. May her day - and yours - be super special!
