ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Kiss and Make Up Day which is a great way to end a spat. Everyone has an argument, a fight, or a tiff once in a while. Family, friends, lovers, no one escapes without an occasional fight.
Annoying habits and irritability aside, it’s good to have the people you love around you. So remember not to take loved ones for granted and appreciate the good stuff in your relationship. Top it all off with a big smooch and you’ve fully embraced the spirit of the day.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.
Author Unknown
Life is too short to hold grudges, or to be angry. It’s always a good idea to kiss and make up. Letting go of anger and bitterness can work wonders for both your attitude and your health, not to mention your relationships.
We need to learn to let go. We need to be able to forgive, so we can move on and be happy. Forgiveness does not mean you erase the past, or forget what has happened. It doesn’t even mean the other person will change his behavior, you cannot control that. All it means is that you are letting go of the anger and pain, and moving on to a better place.
Life is to short to be anything but happy! I got to go to our county fair yesterday with my youngest sister and my BIL. They had a place set up where you could take selfies with Elvis and that is what we did . It was a cool day and very nice out. I got all my favorites — some honey, homemade donuts and some french waffles too.
The end of another busy week is here and it’s almost the end of summer too. This time next week we’ll be celebrating the beginning of Labor Day weekend, which is the unofficial date for fall to begin as far as I’m concerned. Actually summer will continue until the 22nd of September, but one way or the other, summer is almost over.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Banana Split Day! This decadent dessert has been around since the early 1900s and is the perfect treat to enjoy on a warm summer night.
The split is a variation of the traditional ice cream sundae and is usually served in a special dish called a banana boat. It’s easy to make, but you’ll need quite a few ingredients! First, split a banana and place a slice on either side of your boat. Then add three scoops of ice cream in between - one of chocolate, one of vanilla, and one of strawberry. Generously top the chocolate scoop with hot fudge, the vanilla with candied pineapple, and the strawberry with strawberry sauce. Next, swirl whipped cream over each scoop. Finish it off with a sprinkle of crushed nuts and a few maraschino cherries. Yum!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Forgiveness is a gift of high value. Yet it costs nothing.
Betty Smith
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5194. for forgivenes, a gift we give and receive
5195. for peaches, fresh this time of year
5196. for summer days that are almost over
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Forgiveness can be the WD40 that oils the creaking hinges of our friendships and, sometimes, keeps the doors from falling off altogether.
Martin Wroe
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

As so often happens, you've addressed something I need to heed!
Due to my workplace's proximity to the airport, I stepped out back Wednesday morning, hoping to see Air Force One lift off. (Super impressive!)
Well, someone I thought I knew, asked what I was doing ... then said something so horrific, I was stunned.
In what I hoped passed for a calm tone, I reminded her, "MY President is not the only soul on that aircraft."
Unfortunately - because I seethed inwardly all day - by the time I returned home I was physically spent. Even my legs felt rubbery. 48 hours later, I'm still not ready to 'smooch and make up' (lol), but realize I need to stop letting my anger get the best of me.
How fun with the county fair, Ma! So true that life is too short to hold grudges. Good to forgive, not forget like you said, but at least forgive and try to get along with all we can, especially those we love.
betty
Richard and I always followed the kiss and makeup before we go to sleep philosophy! And it kept us sane. I am now thinking about going to a banana split. Hope we get to see that selfie with Elvis.
