62 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
Sunrise: 7:45 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Evaluate Your Life Day which gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect upon our life, where it's been, and where its going.
With a self evaluation, you can then make big changes to improve the quality of your life, as necessary. Or, if things are going well, just tinker with small adjustments.
Evaluate Your Life Day is the beginning of a happier and healthier you!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Take a step back, evaluate what is important, and enjoy life.
Teri Garr
Every now and then it is good to take time to think about what you want to do with the rest of your life. Too many people aren’t happy with their life. They feel run down, out of touch with themselves and others, and heads down working hard to make ends meet.
You only get to live this life once so it’s always good to make a commitment to accept the things you aren’t willing to change, and take action on the things you want to be different.
I’ve got to say that I’ve lived a good life. Things haven’t always turned out the way I’d planned them but these days I count myself blessed.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It's National Seafood Bisque Day!
It's a good time of year for hot, hearty soups. Bisque is a creamy French creation that calls for lobster, crab, shrimp, or even crayfish, all pureed into a smooth, flavorful consistency.
This recipe is a new one for me but it does sound good.
Seafood Bisque
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup flour
4 cups chicken broth
4 cups half and half
1/2 water
1/2 cup chopped drained roasted red bell peppers
12 oz cod fillet, cut into 1 inch pieces
12oz uncooked peeled deveined medium shrimp, thawed if frozen and tails peeled
1/2 cup basil pesto
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
In a 4 quart Dutch oven, melt butter over medium high heat. Stir in flour. Gradually stir in broth, half and half and water. Stir in bell peppers and cod. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Stir in shrimp. Simmer uncovered 2 to 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink and firm. Stir in pesto, salt and pepper.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Evaluate yourself before you evaluate others.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4327. for a good life with no regrets
4328. for seafood, good and good for you too
4329. for a beautiful sunrise
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Good indeed to take a day to evaluate our lives. I realized yesterday I need to move on from our latest crisis. Its far from over, but how I have been responding to it has to change if I ever want peace of mind. That seafood bisque sounds delicious.

Today is not a good day for me to evaluate my life!! Car problems make me see things all in such a negative life. Thank you for this wonderful reminder today!
What a beautiful little home you have Pam. I love seeing it. I am always re-evaluating my life. Thinking about things I could do better, etc. Oh, I wish I could eat seafood, your casserole has my mouth watering! Have a fabulous Thursday! god bless you! xoxo
