52 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
Sunrise: 7:57 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Internet Day which celebrates the origin of the very first internet transmission ever sent, and from it the utterly world changing series of events that followed. The Internet is everywhere these days, being accessed on phones and tablets, tied into our cameras and our TV’s. WiFi is accessible from everywhere these days, from city buses to your neighborhood McDonald’s, and the world grows smaller every day as a result.
Internet Day is a celebration of this culmination of computing and communication technology, and they way it has brought all our lives together.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A journey of a thousand sites begins with a single click.

I do love the internet and am very thankful for it. It helps me keep in touch with family which are scattered near and far. I do my daily devotions on line, I look up recipes and information of all kinds on the internet.
More and more information becomes available to us every day, but we should remember to be careful as there are also a lot of scammers out there trying to deceive us and we should be aware that everything we read is not true.
We should also take care with what we share on the internet. Once you say something on line, it’s there forever.
Today is to be a much warmer day for us as temps will reach up into the 70’s. It’ll only be for a day and then we’ll be dropping back down to the 50’s and 60’s but I’ll be enjoying it while we have it .
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Its National Oatmeal Day which is a day to enjoy one of America’s favorite breakfast foods. There are many health benefits to eating oatmeal. A bowl of oatmeal daily can lower cholesterol and it may reduce the risk of heart disease. Oatmeal is low in fat, low in calories and is a good source iron and fiber.
Here’s a recipe you might want to try out for breakfast tomorrow.
Sunday Morning Oatmeal
1 1/2 cups whole milk, plus extra for serving
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 banana, sliced
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/2 cup golden raisins
Pure maple syrup or brown sugar, for serving
Heat the milk plus 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan until it starts to simmer. Add the oatmeal and salt, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Off the heat, stir in the banana, cherries, and raisins. Place the lid on the pot and allow to sit for 2 minutes. Serve hot with maple syrup or brown sugar and extra milk.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Its amazing how much the Internet has changed our world in such a short time. I do agree one has to be careful about it too. Oatmeal is such a great breakfast food, so yummy with raisins and brown sugar.

I cannot imagine life without the Internet. I wouldn't have met you and so many other blogging friends. Have a great weekend!!
YAY for Internet Day!
When I stop to consider, without the internet I would never have met you, Betty, Paula, Jack (and more!) ..... my life would surely have been poor-er.
A big bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar sounds divine! ... that is, if our weather ever grows cool.
I often think how could I cope without the Internet. It has added a lot of value to my life. Where would I be without Dr Google and all of the lovely people I have met via this medium, including yourself. It has only ever made my life better. Your oatmeal sounds fabulous! Have a Sunday filled with blessings and love. xoxo
