Blatherskites, mark this day on your calendar, for today is Babbling Day. Today we celebrate those with a glib tongue. You know them when you hear them. They never stop talking. They babble on and on. They can turn a simple one sentence statement into an endless dissertation.
In case you didn't know, a ‘Blatherskite' is a person who babbles.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good company, good conversation, are the happiest people in the world. And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause of happiness in others.
William Lyon Phelps
I know a few people that like to talk a lot and that’s not a bad thing at all. I also know a few that don’t talk much at all and I’d like to hear more from them. Being here by myself most of the time it’s always great for me to have someone to talk to.
Today is supposed to be another rainy day here and our temps have really cooled back down. No doubt the furnace will have to be turned back on. It was nice for just a short while not to have either A/C or the furnace going. Every now and then we get some perfect weather with no need of either.
Today’s pictures are of some beautiful October sunsets and sunrises, they’ve been brilliant.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day which celebrates a delicious Fall dessert. In October, pumpkins are literally glowing. So, why not put two of your favorites together.....pumpkins and cheesecake!? They make a great dessert. They are both nutritious and healthy.
I’m a fan of Bisquick baking mix and use it often to make lots of different things and especially Impossible pies. So I thought I’d better share this recipe for Pumpkin cheesecake today.
Impossibly Easy Pumpkin Cheesecake
1 can, 15 oz, pumpkin
1 package, 8 oz, cream cheese, cut into 16 pieces, softened
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 cup caramel topping, if desired
Pecans, optional
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 9 inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. In blender, place all ingredients except caramel topping and pecan halves. Cover; blend on high speed about 2 minutes or until smooth. Or beat in medium bowl with hand beater 2 minutes. Pour into pie plate.
Bake about 45 minutes or just until puffed and center is dry. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Refrigerate at least 3 hours until chilled. Drizzle servings with caramel topping; garnish with pecan halves. Store covered in refrigerator.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If God had wanted to be a big secret, He would not have created babbling brooks and whispering pines.
Robert Brault
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The trouble with talking too fast is you may say something you haven't thought of yet.
Ann Landers
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Such pretty skies! I like the fact our air conditioner actually doesn't run for a lot of hours these days. It will be interesting to see when the heater will need to he used. I tend to talk a lot if I am nervous.

My DH is a 'blatherskite' for sure!
It embarrasses his son to pieces -- and I'm not immune -- but I have to keep reminding myself, someday we're going miss hearing all those old stories told over and over.
The pumpkin cheesecake sounds divine!!! But(!) since "Mr. Blatherskite" doesn't like pumpkin, I may have to go buy one little slice at the Cheesecake Factory.
Have a great day!
