Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is World Standards Day which is celebrated internationally each year on 14th of October. The aim of this day is to raise awareness among regulators, industry and consumers as to the importance of standardization to the global economy. Standards build trust.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You can become an even more excellent person by constantly setting higher and higher standards for yourself and then by doing everything possible to live up to those standards.
Brian Tracy
It is a good thing to have standards set in the business world, the technology world, in the manufacturing industry, in food service and in our own personal lives too. When you know the standards that should be met, it helps to live life the way we should. There are definitely a lot of different standards. When I worked there were standards to meet to ensure my job was done correctly. The list goes on and on.
Today is Flu Shot Day here at my house. They say it takes a couple of weeks to take effect after you get the shot so I’m hoping that I don’t catch the flu before then and that this years shot covers what ever virus is prevalent. We’ll see…
We had a frost advisory last night so I got out yesterday afternoon and took a few pictures of what is blooming here in the back yard. There isn’t much left but Catmint, Sweet Peas and Roses. My mums are just beginning to bud so they may not get a chance to bloom at all this year. They do say the sun will warm us up nicely later on today. The transitional weather continues with it’s ups and downs.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is World Egg Day!
World Egg Day celebrates and promotes the benefits of eggs. It is truely a world, or international, celebration, from China and New Zealand, to Great Britain and Mexico.
This is no yolk. Eggs certainly are what they are cracked up to be. Aside from high cholesterol, eggs are a healthy food. High in nutrition, and low in fat, people all over the world enjoy eggs. And, they celebrate eggs on this day.
One of my favorite things for breakfast is a bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich so I found this easy recipe to share with you all today.
Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwiches
1 can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
8 slices bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled
4 eggs, scrambled
1/2 cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten, if desired
1 tablespoon cracked black pepper, if desired
Heat oven to 350°F. Unroll dough on work surface; separate into triangles. Top each triangle with bacon, scrambled egg and cheese. Roll up loosely as directed on can. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; curve into crescent shape. Brush with beaten egg; sprinkle with pepper.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Let us be about setting high standards for life, love, creativity, and wisdom. If our expectations in these areas are low, we are not likely to experience wellness. Setting high standards makes every day and every decade worth looking forward to.
Greg Anderson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4312. for eggs, good and good for you too
4313. For standards that keep us safe
4314. for late blooming flowers
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Love the Brian Tracy quote. We don't do flu shots at our house! But it is good to remind people to get theirs. Have a great day Ma!!
