Today is Happiness Happens Day which was founded in 1999 under the name of Admit You’re Happy Day, by the Secret Society of Happy People. Happiness Happens Day aims to spread the joy of being happy, and to persuade people to look on the brighter side of life.
Happiness is contagious, so if you’re happy, tell someone! If someone else is happy, listen to them!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Abraham Lincoln
Most of the time I’m a very happy person but when I’m not, I try to look on the bright side and count my blessings. That always results in a much happier me.
The week is starting off with some rather pleasant summer weather, but not to worry, there are still plenty of hot days ahead for us. And looking at the long range forecast we may just have a few days of rain in sight too. That is a good thing for us.
Nothing much we can do about the weather, but it surely does seem to make a big difference in our days. No matter what we can make our own sunshine !
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Day !
Experienced gardener's know that Zucchini is one of the most prolific plants in all of the gardening world. A single plant produces a seemingly endless supply of Zucchini. A small row of zucchini has the potential to end world hunger.
By the time August arrives, gardeners are reaping far more zucchini than they can possibly use. They use it daily in an untold number of recipes, from soups and stews, to breads and dips. Still, the fruit matures on the vine faster than anyone can even pick it. Zucchini growers become desperate, as they try to give zucchini away to family, friends and everyone they encounter.
Desperate times calls for desperate measure. It's time to sneak over, under the cover of darkness, to your neighbors porch, and unload some zucchini.
I truly did have that happen to me. Years ago when the babes were small, one of our neighbors always left some zucchini on the porch and I never saw them do it either. Thankfully, it was always appreciated.
With all that said I thought I’d share a zucchini recipe with you. This is something new and one I’ve not yet tried.
Zucchini Santa Fe
3 cups sliced zucchini. You can also use summer squash.1/2 cup chopped onions

COUNTING MY GIFTS
The best way for a person to have happy thoughts is to count his blessings and not his cash.

I like that zucchini recipe. I always liked getting the fruits of one's harvest as a treat. Happiness is something that goes with ccontentment and gratitude I think.

I wouldn't mind someone sneaking some zucchini onto my porch. But I don't think anyone in my neighborhood grows a garden. I will really have to get busy and plant one next year. I miss the fresh tomatoes and all the zucchini!! I can tell how much you like being happy. And I am happy to have found your blog because it always brings a smile to my face!!
I am always thankful for the zucchini until it becomes a monstrous size, baseball bat. It plays tricks on us, hiding from us until it gets so big it can't hide itself anymore.
