39 DAYS UNTIL FALL

Life is a Special Occasion!

It’s Social Security Day. Wherever we are and whatever we do we’re a small part of a greater society and there’s no better indicator of our togetherness than a social security system, which is why we should celebrate Social Security Day.
Anyone can fall on hard times, or have a period during which a little help doesn’t go amiss, which is why these support systems exist. A good way to celebrate Social Security Day is to think about the more unfortunate members of society and do something for them.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love.
Billy Graham
Having social security is much more than getting a check from the government when you retire. To be sociable and to be
secure we all need the help of people around us. There is not a day goes by that I’m not dependent on others for something. The very fact that I have electricity means that someone out there is working to make sure our homes have power and light. We all need each other.
Just as loving parents do make a child feel safe and secure, we should all make an effort to make all those around us feel secure in the knowledge that they are loved.
These days my home sweet home is a place where I feel safe and secure. It provides shelter from the storms of life.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Creamsicle Day
The heat and humidity of August beckons you to discover, and to enjoy, a summer cooler. A creamsicle is an excellent choice. This is one of several chilly ice cream and frozen snack days to enjoy on a hot, sticky August day. Just make sure to eat your creamsicle quickly before it melts.
Frozen Orange Creamsicle
2 small boxes orange gelatin powder
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups boiling water
1 cup crushed ice
Add 2 cups boiling water to gelatin mix as per package directions and mix well till fully dissolved.
Add crushed ice to the mixture and stir to melt ice and cool mixture. Add sugar and heavy cream. Mix well.
Pour into freezer bowl or individual cups and chill until firm. These can also be poured into freezer pop holders to make true creamsicle type treats!
Happy National Creamsicle Day!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Security... it's simply the recognition that changes will take place and the knowledge that you're willing to deal with whatever happens.
Harry Browne
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4132. for all the people in my life that help to provide security
4133. for my home, where I feel safe and secure
4134. for orange creamsicles, yum
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Courage comes from wanting to do it well. Security comes from knowing you can do it well. Confidence comes from having done it well.

It is good to have security in one's life indeed. Its something we take for granted at times until we lose it, then we appreciate it more.

I am extremely happy to have my social security! It has helped to keep me independent and happy! There really is a day for everything isn't there?? And who doesn't want to celebrate today with a creamsicle!
I love your post about security tied in with Social Security Day!
I am reminded of the words from "The Everlasting Arms".
Leaning on Jesus, Leaning on Jesus, safe and secure from all alarms.
I bet you are thinking, does everything remind you of a song?
The answer, pretty much! :-) God bless!
