Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Be an Angel Day which encourages us to do acts of kindness, and to help others.
It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual. This is your chance to be a blessing in someone's life.
Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.
The pictures today are of some clouds that reminded me of angel feathers above my house.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We are like angels with just one wing. We can only fly by embracing each other.
Anonymous
I have had the opportunity to know a few angels in my day. Friends and family that show up when they are needed is a gift for sure. These are the everyday angels, the folks who share their grace when we need it most.
It's all too easy to overlook the kindnesses that are performed on our behalf on a daily basis, but where would we be without these every day angels by our side.
It is always a good thing to do what we can, when we can and however we can to help others. Sometimes it’s just a kind word or a smile that can make or break someone’s day.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Eat a Peach Day!
I received a jar of peach jam as a gift recently and so I thought I’d share a jam recipe today. I haven’t tried this one out but it sounds easy to make and that’s a plus.
Just Peachy Jam
makes 2 1/2 pints
2 1/2 pounds very ripe peaches, about 9 peaches, peeled, pitted and chopped
2 pounds granulated sugar
Juice of 1 plump lemon
Place a small dish in the freezer. You will need this to test the jam for doneness.
Add the peaches, sugar and lemon juice to a deep stock pot. It’ll look lost in the pot, but you’ll need the space when it comes to a boil.
Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, over high heat. Use a wide spoon to skim the foam from the top. Don’t skip this step, or you’ll end up with a cloudy jam. It’s worth the extra minute or two of your time.
Once you’re done skimming the foam off, reduce the heat to a vigorous simmer, with bubbles constantly popping to the surface. Let the jam continue to cook until reduced by half, and thickened enough that it generously coats the back of a wooden spoon. At this point, you can start testing your jam for doneness. Remove the dish from the freezer, and drizzle a small amount on the plate. Tilt the plate sideways, and if it holds in place without being too runny, then it’s ready. The consistency will still be thin. Don’t worry it will thicken, and set up into a gel, as it cools.
Spoon the hot jam into clean, sterilized jars. Let cool completely before using.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is our most direct line to God and the angels. If we take the time, no matter how crazy and troubled we feel, we can find something to be thankful for. The more we seek gratitude, the more reason the angels will give us for gratitude and joy to exist in our lives.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Hebrews 13:2
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Always good indeed to have those angels in our lives and at times to be an angel ourselves :)
