17 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Repeat Day which is a day seek out activities and experiences we love so much that we want to do them over and over again. No one is sure quite how this festival of going back for more started but popular activities include viewing the movie'Groundhog Day', having the same favorite meal for both lunch and dinner and revisiting important places from your past, such as the spot where you got engaged, graduated or celebrated a personal triumph.
If it’s worth doing once; it’s worth doing again.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Repeat anything often enough and it will start to become you.
Tom Hopkins
It seems I repeat a lot of the same things day in and day out. I have routines that I follow every day, just like having my cup of morning coffee. I have favorite things to do and do them often. Routines help keep us going in a lot of ways. But repeating or replaying our favorite memories is a little different. I like to revisit places where happy times of the past occurred. I even like to reread books that have inspired me. We’ve all done things that make us want to say, Hey, I’ll do that again! If something makes us happy, it’s worth repeating!
Wow! The month of May streaked by and here it is June already. Thankfully it’s mostly quiet days here at my house this week. Nothing new or exciting going on, but I love ordinary days! They are the best !
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Donut Day!
Doughnut Day was created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
This is a sweet celebration and one that I don’t mind repeating at all ! I do love donuts! Although I have made my own donuts in the past, I usually take the easy way out and buy a box at the grocery store. Krispy Creme does a great job as far as I’m concerned. But I did find a recipe to share
EASY DONUT HOLES
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
cinnamon sugar
Mix together. Drop by teaspoon into hot oil. Fry until brown. Drain. Roll in sugar and cinnamon while still warm. It’s easy to do this in a clean brown paper lunch bag. Alternately, donuts may be dusted with powdered sugar.
To make cinnamon sugar, combine 1/2 cup granulated white sugar with 1 tsp. cinnamon.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The lesson which life repeats and constantly enforces is 'look under foot.' You are always nearer the divine and the true sources of your power than you think.
John Burroughs
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3916. for donuts, mmm good
3917. for routines, they keep me going
3918. for ordinary days, they are the best!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
Aristotle
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Yum on those donuts! I like ordinary days too filled with routine and I too enjoy reliving wonderful memories from the past.
