Today is Baby Boomers Recognition Day which is devoted to remembering not just the accomplishments of celebrity Baby Boomers. They’ve made an impact throughout our lives, why not celebrate today too!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes.
William James
The term Baby Boom is used to identify a massive increase in births following World War II. Baby boomers are those people born worldwide between 1946 and 1964, the time frame most commonly used to define them. It seems every generation has some sort of term to define them.
I am not a boomer, I was born before 1946. My children are known as Generation X and were born between 1965 and 1980. Some of my grandchildren were born in generation Y, The Millenniums born between 1981 and 2000 while others were born in Generation Z, 2001 and beyond.
The baby boomer generation, already bumped to second place in numbers by the millenial generation, looks soon to drop to third place behind Generation Z, But they say baby boomers are expected to dominate the nation's wealth and spending for years to come. Also, voter turnout rises with age, so aging baby boomers will continue to be dominant in politics for decades more,
It’s interesting all the facts you can find on the WWW. As for me, my generation was called the Silent Generation, born between 1923 and 1944. I was born right on the edge of being a baby boomer in 1944. I guess you could say I got to enjoy the best of two generations. I learned a lot from my parents and grand parents that survived the Great Depression and I got to live in a time of renown advancements in technology too.
What ever year we were born in it’s always good to remember that right now, the present moment, is the best time of your life.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
National Chocolate Eclair Day
Eclairs are a light, crisp pastry filled with a pastry cream. They are most often eaten as a dessert. The recipe I’m sharing today is super easy. Layers of vanilla pudding and Cool Whip along with sweet graham crackers stack up for a delicious summer dessert.
Easy Chocolate Eclair Bars
1 pkg. 3.4 oz. Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
2 cups cold milk, divided
1 tub 8 oz. COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
22 graham crackers
1 pkg. 4 oz. Unsweetened Chocolate
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Beat pudding mix and 1 3/4 cups milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in COOL WHIP. Layer about 1/3 of the grahams and half the COOL WHIP mixture in 13 by 9 inch pan, breaking grahams as necessary to fit; repeat layers. Top with remaining grahams.
Microwave chocolate and butter in medium microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 min., stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar and remaining milk; stir until well blended. Immediately spread over grahams.
Refrigerate 4 hours. This recipe can serve up to 24 depending on how you slice it. I’ve also made this recipe with chocolate frosting instead of melted chocolate. It was also very good.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The very best reason parents are so special . . . is because we are the holders of a priceless gift, a gift we received from countless generations we never knew, a gift that only we now possess and only we can give to our children. That unique gift, of course, is the gift of ourselves. Whatever we can do to give that gift, and to help others receive it, is worth the challenge of all our human endeavor.
Fred Rogers
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3973. for past present and future generations
3974. for chocolate, always good
3975. for temps in the 80’s, better than in the 90’s
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The years teach much which the days never knew.

A bit of love from someone dear…

Isn't it interesting with all the names they give to the generations? I didn't know what the "new" one was after millenniums, so learned something new today with Generation Z. I'm definitely a baby boomer born in 1957. I read an article recently how baby boomers are starting to downsize but their children are not interested in their things, in fact the article mentioned millenniums tend to be minimalist in what they want. Not sure I believe that in its entirety, but it was an interesting thought.
