Today is Best Friends Day which is a time to enjoy and appreciate your best friend. It's a day to honor and cherish the relationship.
If you're lucky, you have a best friend. If you are real lucky, you have a number of best friends. Best friends are very, very special people. You spend countless hours with your best friend going to events and activities, or just hanging out. You share secrets, hopes, dreams, aspirations, and disappointments with your best friend.
Friends come and go for a variety of reasons, even BFFs are sometimes not forever. It's the result of many things, including moving, changing schools or jobs, and more. I hope that you are lucky enough to have a number of best friends over the years.
Happy Best Friends Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Friendship doubles our joy and divides our grief.
Swedish proverb
I have been blessed to have a number of good friends over the years and I’m very thankful for them. I think the best way to have a friend is to be a friend. It’s a two way street. Best friends may be hard to find, but life just wouldn’t be the same without them.
Good friends are good for your health. Friends can help you celebrate good times and provide support during bad times. Friends prevent loneliness and give you a chance to offer needed companionship, too.
Sometimes our friends are like family and sometimes our family are our friends. All are important !
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Chocolate Ice Cream Day
I have made homemade ice cream in the past and it is delicious. It does take time though, and since I’m mostly the only one here at my house, I prefer to buy mine at the store. I did find a good ice cream dessert recipe to try out so that’s what I’ll share with you all today.
This is a frosty makeover on a campfire classic
Peanut Butter S'mores Ice Cream Cake
1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream
1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 jar, 16 oz., creamy peanut butter
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 bottle, 7.25 oz, chocolate topping that forms hard shell
1/2 cup roasted salted peanuts, roughly chopped, if desired
Additional graham cracker crumbs and miniature marshmallows, as desired
Remove ice cream from freezer 10 to 12 minutes, but no longer or you will end up with an icy cake. Spray 8 to 9 inch round springform pan with cooking spray.
In medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Dump mixture into pan; press evenly in bottom of pan. In small microwavable bowl, microwave peanut butter uncovered on High 15 to 20 seconds or until lightly melted and somewhat pourable.
In large bowl, mix ice cream and peanut butter, using spatula or electric mixer, until almost no streaks of peanut butter remain. Stir in marshmallows. Work quickly so ice cream does not completely melt. Spread evenly over crust. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing against ice cream to help prevent ice crystals from forming. Freeze 4 to 6 hours.
Before serving, remove from freezer, and pour chocolate over top, allowing some to drip down sides. Immediately top with chopped peanuts, and additional graham cracker crumbs and miniature marshmallows so they harden into the shell.
Once shell hardens, slice and serve or freeze until ready to serve. To make cutting easier, remove from freezer 10 minutes before serving

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

I have had a few 'best friends' during my life time. I have found that I am usually a better friend than they are. I have lost two of my very best friends to death. Miss them very much. I am not a fan of chocolate ice cream. But the recipe sounds good!! Have a wonderful Tuesday
I had to have my dose of inspiration today, MA... I have not been a faithful reader lately, because life has intervened. So good to read your page!
Best friends day, that is wonderful! One of my best friends is out west on a camping trip jsut now. We have been friends since the early 1970's! She is like an angel to me, so your poem is just right. xx
