Life is a Special Occasion!

Flag Day, is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for our flag, its designers and makers. Our flag is representative of our independence and our unity as a nation. One nation, under God, indivisible.
As Americans, we have every right to be proud of our culture, our nation, and our flag. So raise the flag today and every day with pride!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
George M. Cohan
The flag of the United States represents freedom and has been an enduring symbol of the country’s ideals since its early days. The colors represented in our flag have meaning. The red represents hardiness and courage; the white, purity and innocence; and the blue vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
It’s an honor for me to fly the red white and blue because it stands for what our nation believes. I’m proud to be an American and like to show it.
It’s looking like it will be a beautiful summertime week here in Ohio. We may get a little rain a day or two, but it’s needed to keep everything growing and green.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Strawberry Shortcake Day which honors a dessert that's great for summer consumption. It’s fairly light, easy to make, and makes use of the bounty of your own garden, strawberries! Made of sliced strawberries, a little sugar, shortcakes, and whipped cream, this layered delight presents excitement to the eye and to the tongue!
One of my families favorites is Strawberry Jello Cake. The picture above shows one that I made for DD’s and DS#3’s birthday one year and here is the recipe
ANGEL STRAWBERRY CAKE
1, 6 oz. pkg. strawberry Jello
2 lg. pkgs. frozen strawberries, thawed
1 angel food loaf cake
Whipped topping
Mix Jello with 2 cups boiling water. Pour strawberry juice in measuring cup and add cold water to make 2 cups. Mix with hot Jello. Add strawberries and mix. Cut angel food cake into cubes in 13 by 9 sheet pan. Pour Jello over cake and mix. Chill. Cut into squares, spread with topping.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
George M. Cohan
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3949. for our flag, which represents our countries values
3950. for strawberries, in season here right now
3951. for our nation, I’m proud to be an American
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
United we stand, divided we fall
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
