Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Ballpoint Pen Day which honors the Bíró brothers, László and György, who are credited with the invention of the ballpoint pen. Now low cost and its omnipresence assure that there is always a ballpoint pen within your reach.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The act of putting pen to paper encourages pause for thought, this in turn makes us think more deeply about life, which helps us regain our equilibrium.
Norbet Platt
Did you know that when you're writing something down it's not just the words you use which send a message but the pen that you use also says a lot. Ballpoints are for when need something practical and which won't let you down and
Fountain pens are for when you have something important to say.
If you are mostly a ballpoint user, you are the practical, no nonsense type. You get the job done with minimal fuss and you don’t judge a book by its cover. You are happy to use the pens the office provides; they do the job, so why use anything else.
If you are a marker pen user, you are not one to shy away from a challenge. You are loud and proud and tell it like it is. You are a quick thinker and you love throwing ideas around. You can usually be found with your beloved flipchart or whiteboard conducting a brainstorming session.
Fountain pens suggest you are old fashioned at heart. Despite the advances of technology, you still like to use pen and paper for your first draft even though it’s more time consuming. It’s all about quality over quantity with you. You take your time to get things right and have an eye for detail.
I used different types of pens depending on my mood and the occasion. Maybe that means I’m a multi tasker. I don’t know. I do know I can’t get along with out them no matter how much technology has advanced.
After having a beautiful day yesterday, they say we’re to warm back up in the 80’s today with a chance of rain. We were able to turn off the air conditioning for a few days, but it looks like today may just be the day it gets turned back on.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Iced Tea Day
Chances are, it is already hot in your area. Today may serve as a good reminder to make and enjoy your first of many Iced Tea drink of the season. Have it plain, add a little lemon, or sweeten it with sugar. Iced Tea is certainly a favorite summer cooler of millions of Americans. And best of all, tea is good for your health!
Making iced tea is easy, and endlessly adaptable: you can brew it light or strong, drink it unsweetened or sweetened. Once you’ve got the basics down, you can start getting creative. Just follow the simple steps below.
Pour four cups of boiling water over two teabags into a heat proof pitcher and leave for three to five minutes. Remove the teabags, and sweeten to taste by adding a little sugar. Stir in six cups of ice cubes until melted, or use four cups of cold water. Add in freshly cut lemon slices for some citrus zing, and keep refrigerated.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude takes three forms: a feeling in the heart, an expression in words, and a giving in return.
John Wanamaker
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3937. for pens, ballpoints are my favorite
3938. for iced tea, very refreshing
3939. for my refrigerator, keeps things cool on hot days
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

That is interesting with what type of pen or marker we use tells something about us. I like when I get a good ball point pen and it makes writing almost smooth. I always hate when it runs out of ink and I have to break in another new pen.
A glass of ice tea is always refreshing on a hot summer day!
betty
I love iced tea.
I haven't used a fountain pen in years. I used to love using one. Now it is Gel Ballpoint all the time. In all different colors. I am off to make me a jug of iced tea!! Have a wonderful weekend!
