The UN General Assembly proclaimed December 10th as Human Rights Day in 1950, to bring to the attention of all the peoples of the world the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations. We can spread the message of treating everyone as equal all over the world and to discard all prejudices.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Peace on earth, good will to men…
We hear a lot about peace and friendship over the holidays, but the reality is that different religions and peoples are constantly fighting. It seems we can never get along, that there's not much peace and even less goodwill in today's world, but we must never give up. We must never stop trying to help those who are oppressed, those who are in need.
Let this be our prayer for everyone. That you will know the PEACE of God this Christmas time, and do what you can to bring HOPE and GOODWILL to others
Try to bring peace to someone else today as you're doing your last minute Christmas errands.
Peace begins with a smile!
Mother Teresa
Peace and good will to you this season. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
15 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Putting ‘celebration' at the center of the season and taking the focus off of gifts and giving, can be the key to happy holidays that don't break the bank. Simple, inexpensive family activities can be as meaningful as pricey Nutcracker tickets and there really is no need for scratchy dresses or dress up suits either. For years we did just fine with a red or green sweater or sweatshirt.
You can tumble the family into the car pajamas and all, and drive out to see the Christmas lights. Pack hot drinks and popcorn for a surprise treat.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Luke 2:14
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2297. for peace and good will that is felt in the heart especially at this time of year
2298. for inexpensive ways to celebrate
2299. for hot chocolate, always good on a cold night
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
People, Look East
People, look east. The time is near
Of the crowning of the year.
Make your house fair as you are able,
Trim the hearth and set the table.
People, look east and sing today:
Love, the Guest, is on the way.
The Oxford Book of Carols
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

So true that peace does begin with a smile. It would be nice if we would see more peace every day, but especially during the holiday season!
