Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
On December 22nd we celebrate Chipmunk Day. The Chipmunks were at the #1 position on the music charts on this day. In 1958 Alvin, Simon, and Theodore sang with David Seville. The Chipmunk Song , the novelty tune that topped the charts for a month, is still a Christmas favorite today…
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We’ve been good, but we can’t last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don’t be late
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things give off the greatest glow of happiness.
Bob Hope
Songs like those of the Chipmunks bring back a lot of happy memories for me. These happy cartoon characters seem to cheer everyone up ! Christmas is such a wonderful time of year and I do have loads of wonderful memories. The pictures in todays post are of some Christmas lights as seen this year by DS#5 and his family. I’m thankful they took the time to send pictures.
Like songs, Christmas lights bring back a lot of good memories too. I can remember piling into the car and going for a drive to see them. They certainly do light up a dark night and bring a lot of happiness into the world.
Christmas memories are nice, but we have to keep making new ones for our families and our friends. May all of yours be good ones!
I hope you all have a great start to this new week. Happy Monday!
Like snowflakes, my Christmas memories gather and dance - each beautiful, unique and too soon gone.

3 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Christmas morning will soon be here, so take a moment to prepare to capture the memories. Haul out the cameras and videocams and make sure they're ready for the big day. Charge the batteries, check supplies of film or digital media, and be sure you have cables handy for uploading digital photos so that you can share those Christmas moments !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.
Laura Ingalls Wilder
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2330. for cheerful Christmas songs, they brighten my day
2331. for cheerful Christmas lights, they brighten my nights
2332. for Christmas ! The greatest gift of all came to save us.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Peace on earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day.
Helen Steiner Rice
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I loved the chipmunks and their singing; I remember getting an album of their Christmas tunes years ago for a gift :) It is always fun to sing Christmas carols and to go and see the lights of the season. We did that last night, driving through a neighborhood where all the houses are decorated. So fun and festive!

Pam, what a beautiful post. Again. I have always loved that song by the chipmunks. They never play it over here. They have their own holiday songs which they play, which I had never heard before coming over here! Not many do christmas lights outside, but the ones who do really go over the top! It's incredible. Have a lovely day! xxoo
